  • I think the Sorrowful Mysteries ought to be prayed more often

bc they lead you to Jesus in.. the best way, save the Real  Presence (being there more than an hour)

the thing is, the Real Presence is gone or virtually gone in many Churches... and so we are left w/ the rosary. The rosary is what brought me to Jesus... when I had been outside the Church for many years...

obviously Church doesn't do much good if you don't KNOW that it will do you good, if you don't go there... which I never used to do.. I was ignorant.  it also does no good if it is a heretical branch of the Church rather than an obedient branch.. (I know "branch" is not the right word, but I am pressed 4 time and don't find the best words when I am under pressure)

  • I read in a Catholic prophesy book that in the end times the Sorrowful Mysteries will be the most efficacious of all the Mysteries.

I urge everyone to watch this video, it was produced in 1957 and it has all the mysteries detailed, this one is the Sorrowful Mysteries, if it doesn't make you shed tears, you need help.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • During Lent last year, I prayed the sorrowful mysteries. I somehow got stuck. I have prayed them ever since. I am never joyful. I will pray the glorious mysteries when I see Jesus (hopefully). And goodness no, I never pray the luminosity ones. Thanks for the video.

  • Our Blessed Mother has said to pray the entire Rosary, not just one set of Mysteries.

Praying in a group is always more efficacious then praying the rosary alone, and you might want to know that 24/7 a free rosary conference call where we pray all 15 decades is available to anyone who calls.  Daily at 7:00 P.M. PST, it is easier to pray the entire rosary in a group.    Just dial at 7:00 P.M. PST 1 (319) 527-9601 and introduce yourself if you desire to be called upon to lead on of the decades, or if you prefer to just listen, say so and no one will call on you to lead a decade.  Since this is a live call, not a recording it is at times not perfect in the fact that distractions occur.
Many callers hang up after the first 5 decades and that is fine to do so, it is late for those in other time zones.
    Please pray for my soul.

I don't get you not liking the Luminous ones. I like them. But the Sorrowful ones are the ones that draw me the closest to Jesus. I can relate to you saying you are never joyful, assuming I u/stand what u mean.
I do not always have much joy myself..
But then... depends how you define Joy

The "luminous" mysteries were just made up out of thin air by modernists and are NOT traditional in any way, shape, or form.

  • Even the word "luminous"is telling!  Who can improve on the rosary?

I know, I was gobsmacked when I heard JP2 was inventing an addition to the Most Holy Rosary.

just bc a "modernist" came up with them.. I heard it was JP II
    doesn't mean they are bad
that kind of logic is not going to do you much good

  • There are 150 mysteries to the Rosary because there are 150 psalms and certain religious communities recited the entire 150 psalms in one day. The Rosary permitted the laity to develop the habit of daily prayer with the 150 mysteries

There are 15 promises attached to the Rosary.

There are also indulgences attached the Rosary. Any modification to a prayer renders these indulgences invalid.

She did not say it was just because a modernist came up with them.  She linked to an article that should have made it clear why adding the luminous mysteries was such a bad idea.  Did you read it?  If not, please do so.  If you do not understand what the problem is, ask questions.  There are good reasons to say that the Luminous Mysteries are bad.

As subjects for meditation, there is nothing wrong with them in themselves, but changing the Rosary is a rejection of history and cuts off our connection to the past.  There are also problems with the reasons for changing the Rosary.  JPII was trying to make focus it on Christ rather than the Blessed Mother.  But the entire basis of Marian devotion is that we come to Christ through His Mother.

  • It was Pius IX or Leo the XIII who said, when the modernists wanted to add to the rosary in the 1800's,
"I cannot change the rosary, I'm only the Pope".

How many times has Our Blessed Mother approved the rosary AS IS in her many apparitions?

She favored (with healing) and encouraged the 54 day novena, so how will that work with another 5 decades added?
"Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered: and them that hate Him flee from before His Holy Face"  Psalm 67:2[/b]
