    Is anyone here going to pray and do penance on September 7th (I guess that's today) as the Pope asked?

    Today, Sept. 7th, is First Saturday.  Most trads already fast and pray.  And yes, unless we're ignorant or more American than Catholic, we've been praying for our brethren in the middle east for some time now!

    I didn't know this and I don't see it reflected on any traditional calendars.  How is somebody new to tradition supposed to learn these things?  It hasn't been mentioned in my chapel, not on calendars, or anything.
