For those who were online last night (Mater, stevus), or have read the thread about BF, etc., I have an apology to make. I am sorry for making (more) trouble (than normal). I was not meself...I had a couple of drinks and could not sleep. For some reason, I was really pugnacious (which, believe it or not, is the opposite effect I usually get from a drink).
The moral of the story is:
Posting under the influence = a bad idea.
Carry on...

LOL!
It seems someone was fond of your ... pugnacity??

GV,
Thank you for this. This explains a lot!

Here's a song I'd like to share!
Saint Patrick never drank

GV,
Thank you for this.
No worries, amigo. I hope you (and all) have a peaceful and profitable Holy Week.

Something gladius and I have in common, I love a glass of the old vino now and again i.e. almost every day, and a nice beer is often in my grasp as well. I was drinking some wine when we were arguing in a Crisis thread about Assisi.
I'm wondering if I'm a drunk who is feigning ignorance about it. It seems I always drink just a bit too much. I have learned that three glasses will wipe me out, so today I was kind of pouring sips, not seeing how they added up. I don't think I'm tipsy, but I'm not sure how to define tipsy.

I recommend cutting it all out. I've quit totally because I realize that drinking in moderation does me no good. Not that I was every much of a drinker, but on occasion I would drink more than I should have. But even when I didn't drink more than I should have, it did me no good.
Another recommendation Raoul, is don't every talk about such things on these forums. It's like blood for sharks.
And some of worst ones sometimes are the ones who pretend they're interested in helping you.

If you really enjoy wine for its taste, then put a few ice cubes in it (this'll help dilute the alcohol a bit); I personally find i can drink much more without getting tipsy. Might effect the taste a bit; i actually find it tastes better when it's a little watered down.

I thought of that, Tele, but people would find it very hard to accuse me of being a drunkard. It's very rare to see me lose control in any way, and when I do, it's usually because of my temper which I have when I'm sober.
I have this bad habit of throwing things like that out there for people to use as ammo, maybe because I want to see who has integrity and who doesn't. Those who are of good will should be able to see what I'm all about. Weren't there saints who opened themselves up deliberately to misperceptions, didn't care if they were considered insane, etc.?
I don't want to get into that mode where I'm paranoid about how people perceive me and trying to act as if I'm some kind of inhuman plaster-cast saint. The real saints were alive and human.
I don't drink to be tipsy, but I do drink to be relaxed, to feel the warmth flowing through my body, etc.

In my opinion if everyone had a nice glass of wine (or brandy!) before posting in the evening, this would be a much more pleasant place - even if GV was more pugnacious.

I cut smoking out. God has not called me to give up the vino.
I'd even say it's kind of Puritan to do so, unless you have a reason ( like it is a temptation to sin, whether anger or lust ).

That does have a nice ring to it! :laugh1:

Raoul,
If you posted on here completely lit up, I probably could not tell the difference. Your regular posts sound like they are under the influence. Probably demonic instead of alcoholic though. Or could be both...
:devil2:

DO NOT dilute your drink! That's a good way to get inebriated. For some reason it helps deliver the alcohol to your system faster.
What you should really do is drink slowly and space out your sips, and not gulp it down or take shots.

The only way to deal with kitty cat avatars is to begin drinking.

Wonderful! If my above theory regarding Cathinfo is correct, I have singlehandedly improved the entire board.

That's weird. I notice the alcohol effects me faster if I drink it without ice cubes. When I have a glass, though, I usually wait an hour or two before getting another.

I've been told otherwise, as I stated, by several people. A friend of mine has actually done this on more than one occasion and have proved my point. lol I guess I could throw in my experience too but...
But in any case, it's not like diluting the alcohol is going to make it just disappear!
