  • Just heard that the Pope has summoned all the Cardinals in the Curian, and the rumour has it that he is to make a clean sweep!

Will all the cardinals be replaced? Some? And who will be the replacements? Has anyone else heard anything?

Sorry, meant to write Curia, without the 'n' on the end.

  • Perhaps he'll announce his resignation as Benedict did the last time the Cardinals were summoned to Rome.

  • I wouldn't get too excited.  Michael Voris is literally the only person who has said ANYTHING about this, and all he did was throw up an impulsive, impromptu minute and a half video saying that this rumor existed and you could tell how excited he was-- I'm sure he believes it.  This is the guy who calls Francis 'Pope Francis the Hammer.'

"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

  • I think it's more likely that the curial cardinals have been summoned to receive a tongue-lashing on another matter entirely.

The Pope bishop of Rome appears to have been surprised that his rank discourtesy to the RAI orchestra of Turin—by failing to show up, effectively without excuse or apology, for a concert planned in his honor and scheduled after close consultation with the appropriate members of the papal household—garnered so much negative publicity in Italy. To nip further embarrassment in the bud, I suspect he's making it clear that he wants nothing to do with any music that is (1) not played on the accordion and (2) not meant to accompany dancing that is about as subtle as the pose of a hooker in the red-light district of Rome or Buenos Aires.

  • The only thing that Bergoglio could do to look good in my eyes is to convert to Catholicism and publicly repent of his sins against her.

I heard that he was at work on his planned curial reform. What a neat way to slow down the needed reform; schedule an infinity of concerts, performances etc... that he would be expected to attent so that they can delay what needs to be done, or maybe if they manipulate him well enough they can get him to forget about this curial reform stuff anyway?
Anyhow this could also be why there is an emergency meeting.

A former Catholic priest who was convicted on sex-abuse charges has reportedly given Italian authorities the names of 20 other priests who were involved in child prostitution.

Patrizio Poggi, who spent 5 years in prison, told police that several prominent clerics, including the secretary to an Italian bishop, were involved in a pedophile ring, Italian news agencies report. Prosecutors in Rome are actively pursuing the case.
