  • The title of this preposterous thread is ridiculous and recklessly insulting.

Despite technical theological controversies, Pope Benedict is aged, frail and having mobility issues, as the video indicates.

Guga has either never carefully observed the aged, especially when they are trying to deal with balance, or is himself in dire need of an optometrist.

  • Sorry, it does not look he is incapable to give the kiss. Not at all.

  • Guga, I am quite sure the Pope is NOT a Mason.  To imply otherwise is a very reckless allegation.

The differences between the "Modernist"-laced ideas of the man in office and his Traditionalist interlocutors, specific to interpretations stemming from Vatican II, are not served by thoughtless, needless claims void of any substantial evidence.

Pope Benedict is reportedly blind in one eye and has lost a great amount of weight over the past six months. I would ask you to consider some regard for a very old, frail man in this matter.

Doctrinal issues are one thing. Idle, false speculations quite another.

  • "Let us be content here that the text serves as a
countersyllabus  and, as such, represents, on the
part of the Church, an attempt at  reconciliation
with   the   new   era   inaugurated   in  1789
    ."

    Theology)

Wow -- let's be happy with the reconciliation of the "Catholic Doctrine" with masonic French Revolution.

  • I own a copy.  It's in my library.  But it does not make him a Mason, which I am pleased to see you finally admit.

My entire point with you was that the written record speaks for itself.  It does not need egregious embellishments based on politicized speculation.  That's all.

    Well done, Pelly.
    God Bless you, Pelly.

Francis is an Antipope. Pray that God will grant us a good Pope and save the Church.
I abjure and retract my schismatic support of the evil CMRI.Thuc condemned the Thuc nonbishops
"Now, therefore, we declare, say, determine and pronounce that for every human creature it is necessary for salvation to be subject to the authority of the Roman Pontiff"-Pope Boniface VIII.
If you think Francis is Pope,do you treat him like an Antipope?

  • Know that, too, gentlemen.  Wrote about it more than once.

The issue I raised with Guga was very NARROW regarding one specific allegation he was trying to make and did not deal with the pope's unfortunate literary record, with which each of you and I are familiar and upon much of which it would be entirely likely we agree.

Does that make the matter plainer for you?

Does anyone have any footage of Benedict XVI even when younger where he is kissing the cross?

  • Apparently some here were sleeping through some of their catechism lessons...

We're really just asking the question.  And it's perfectly valid.  We are also discussing public events.  Everyone here can read and Benedict XVI has left a trail of "writing" behind him.

  • I believe the Pope's motu TLM is a ruse and that he is trying to dupe the SSPX to the detriment of tradition.  You are not going to see me taking up for him much these days.  But saying he "doesn't like to kiss the cross" based on the YouTube videos in the op is sensationalizing poor grade propaganda.

Some of the scenes look like he is stretching way up in which event he could easily topple over with a misstep; the base at the bottom of the cross is wide enough to cause someone who is aged and frail problems; the scene where he is kneeling doesn't show the base nor fully the angle for his "attempted" kiss.  Very consistent with simply being due to his age and frailty.

  • I got the feeling as i watched the second video, as he gazed with his eyes, upward and looked at the crucifix, he looked ashamed; and for good reason.

A true pope kissing the cross of Christ would be an example for all, and they should have made certain that he could have done it, if he wanted too.  I wonder why they didn't, this makes it so obvious for anyone who is looking for a reason to doubt him.

I do believe that "they" just don't care any more what any one thinks, they have possession of all the treasures of our Church so in their mind they have won.
    Please pray for my soul.
