  • Please pray a chaplet of the Rosary every day for the specific purpose of obtaining a peaceful end to abortion.

Please also convince two others to do the same, and have them each find two more people in turn, and so on.

I tried doing this in my parish but it died when the priest was reassigned and never caught on after that.

I would like to see what happens when this gets going.

  • Someone marked my post favorably.

If no one is doing this I would like to know why.

If this is a bad idea, then tell me.

I can't read minds, even on the Internet.

  • What is considered a "chaplet" of the Rosary?  Is that just one decade?  Five decades?

  • Five decades is one chaplet.

It is commonly misunderstood that five decades is an entire Rosary, but to pray an entire Rosary actually is to pray all fifteen decades.

I do not know what you would call praying all fifteen decades plus Pope John Paul II's Luminous invention.

Praying the whole Rosary each day is not a bad habit, and a person should work up to that.

Do you pray the luminous "mysteries"? I think what you are proposing is a very good and worthy intention though I think many people people on this forum, myself included, don't think much of the luminous "mysteries".

The Rosary is the 15 decades that Our Lady gave to St. Dominic and does not include this.

By the way I pray everyday for an end to abortion and the conversion of all those involved in this evil.

I am confused by this post.

I attend a traditional chapel and all of the people I know pray a Rosary every day.

I have not had to "convince" anyone to pray their Rosary.  We also pray a Rosary every Sunday before Mass.

I also saw in your other post a mention about the "Luminous Mysteries."

Are you in a Novus Ordo Parish?  Do many people at your parish pray the Rosary?  Is your priest for some reason opposed to the Rosary?  Do you pray the "Luminous Mysteries?"

Because of time restraints, I will respond in this way:

I am a traditional Catholic.  Our family prays a Rosary every day for different intentions and always for the end of abortion.

Everyone I know who is traditional Catholic also prays a Rosary every day to end abortion, among other things.

When I was a NO Catholic I did not even know how to pray the Rosary because it was not suggested to do so nor was I instructed on how to do it.

When I was a NO Catholic, I knew very few people who prayed the Rosary.

The NO parish I attended at the time prayed one decade of the Rosary for "all people to come to respect life," whatever that means.

I don't know any traditional Catholic who would pray the "Luminous Mysteries."

I have learned that their are very, very many differences in the personal lives of traditional Catholics and Novus Ordo Catholics.  Only one of these is devotion to the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I know first hand what "gets going" when people pray the Rosary.

I would like to see what "gets going" when Catholics return to tradition.

Was pretty clear in calling the Luminous mysteries an invention of John Paul II.

Clearly described full Rosary as fifteen, not twenty, decades.

Point of effort is to increase devotion to Rosary and to end abortion peacefully.

If        doesn't pray Rosary daily already, pray daily for ending abortion.

If        prays Rosary daily already, then add extra five decades per day for specific purpose.

In either case, then have convince two more to do same.

    Can't be more clear.

Quick to attribute and accuse Norvus Ordoism, slow to comprehend.

No offense, but do you attend a "post-Vatican II" church, also known as the novus ordo or perhaps as the "Ordinary Form"?

  • "Efficient short sentences".

Last time I looked a sentence requires a subject and a predicate. Two adjectives and a noun do not a sentence make.

    "Helps prevent lack of charity".

No, you are encouraging a moment of irritation and confusion.

    "Yes/no"?

                 A resounding "NO"

    "I know how to write".

We could just take your word for it, I guess.

    "Experimental post style".

Experiment has failed. Let us move on to something else.

    "Thank you".

            No, no, thank you.

  • Too pleased to criticize and condemn.

So pleased that purpose of thread is forgotten.

More fun to tell others about why you don't like what/how they do?

You do realize that there are several  Catholic "Chaplets" that have nothing whatsoever to do with the Holy Rosary , correct?  You can find the various Chaplet devotions with a little research.

The Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary is based on the Marian Psalter - Which came originally from the Psalter  a Christian Practise - which came from the Priests of Our Lord praying the Psalms of King David which came from the Practise of the Levitical Priests praying the Psalms of King David since the time of King David.

When ever I hear anyone talk about the so called "lumenous mysteries" I cringe.

Unles there are 50 more Psalms of King David that no one knows about - then there likewise is no such thing as the lumenous mysteries.

The Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary was given to the Church in its form by the Blessed Virgin Mary.   It ended the Albingensian Heresy and in addition there have been some of the Greatest Miracles in Christendom attributed to the Holy Rosary. (Lepanto comes to mind)

Merely praying a Minimum of 5 decades - if everyone would do that and add the Fatima Prayers all of our catholic goals will be realized.

I would be in favor of convincing people to pray 5 decades of the holy Rosary. If we can get two people to do that alone - your goal will be realized.

The fact that this heresy has not been dispelled tells me that Catholics today have not been doing the minimum. They have not been praying 5 Decades of the the Holy Rosary every day as a minimum.  Praying more than 5 Decades is only that much better.  Praying a Full 15 Decades - even Better Still.  Praying more than 15 - Better Still.   The more we Pray - the sooner this will end.  Our Blessed Mother has already told us what we must do.

If we as Catholics want to see profound changes in the Church and the Heresy of Modernism end - we do not need to do more than to get every Catholic Family to pray at LEAST 5 Decades of the Holy Rosary Every day as a Family.

It isnt being done.   Its that plain and simple.

When we all pray as a Family - The Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the manner prescribed and in it ask that Abortion end in addition to the Heresy of Modernism (Which will end things like abortion as well because it ends) then we can expect to see change.

Spread devotion to the Holy Rosary.  If we could eventually get All Catholics Praying 15 decades Daily we would have our Church Restored.

"Give me an army praying the Holy Rosary and I will conquer the world." -Pope Pius IX

"Nevertheless, if men in our century, with its derisive pride, reject the holy Rosary, there is an innumerable multitude of holy men of every age and every condition who have always held it dear. They have recited it with great devotion, and in every moment they have used it as a powerful weapon to put the demons to flight, to preserve the integrity of life, to acquire virtue more easily, and, in a word, to attain real peace among men." -Pope Pius XI

"The Rosary is a powerful weapon to put the demons to flight and to keep oneself from sin... It not only serves admirably to overcome the enemies of God and of religion, but it is also a stimulus and an encouragement to the practice of the evangelical virtues, which it develops and cultivates in our souls. Above all, it nourishes our Catholic Faith...If you desire peace in your hearts, in your homes, and in your country, assemble each evening to recite the Rosary. Let not even one day pass without saying it, no matter how burdened you may be with many cares and labors." -Pope Pius XI

I say we need to have a Rosary Campaign.   We need to insure that every member of our Parish Prays the Holy Rosary.   Perhaps we can organize a Daily Lay Public Parish Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament.

Yes - by all means lets do so. And by organising that - we will see first hand how dedicated we as Catholics are in ridding ourselves of Modernism.
