  • As some may know, I am a committed monarchist. However as any I'm still learning and have a long ways to before cementing my ideas on all concepts of the monarchy. Does anybody know of any good philosophical tracts (preferably Classical or Medieval Catholic) on the nature of a monarchy?

  • This has nothing to do with the topic per se, but I just thought I'd share a very romantic picture I've had in my mind since we're on the topic of monarchy.

It would be really cool if someone could paint something like this: The heavens opening up and down comes a pouring of holy knights on brilliant white horses onto the enemies of God, all wearing brilliant capes flying behind them while their lances are pointing straight ahead, well armored. At their head would be an older Charlemagne-like figure, with gray hair, eyes of deep and penetrating wisdom, massive build, and a spectacular crown on his head. His horse would be the most brilliant of all of them and he would be covered in chain mail and flowing royal robes. He would have a two handed sword in one hand and a golden rosary and his horse's reigns in the other, and the sword would be raised high in the air as he was about to strike the first enemy. The enemy would have nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.

Imagine if that was how God planned on bringing about His wrath upon the world. I think it would be justice indeed to be slayed by those primitives who valued such little things as honor and the Virgin Mother.

In regards to being a responsible man, would it be interesting to learn, after six years of accuмulating all the wisdom you could, that you had it right all alon

Queen Elizabeth is a protestant. Protestants by definition are heretics, we owe no allegience to a Protestant.

Most Trads, myself included are monarchists I believe, but will only submit to a Catholic Monarch.

According to a prophecy I just posted in the Crisis section(Which you are not obliged to believe) the Great Monarch could come around 2038.

I hope he does, I would like to see an end to heresy in my lifetime. :)

You mean something like this? The nostalgia is a beautiful thing, but perhaps one day... For now let's keep Tours in our hearts!

As would I, Heresy is quite literally of the devil!   :heretic:

But as for Her Majesty being a protestant, need I remind you of "render onto Caesar that which is Caesar's". Christ was an ideal Roman citizen, who acknowledged that Caesar and Pilate had legitimate earthly authority.

This was a pagan empire with pagan rulers, however they had legitimate authority on this earth, in the same way that Her Majesty's throne rightfully belongs to her and to her successors.

Admitting this has nothing to do with the heretical CoE which despite the obvious historical connection,  is ultimately a separate issue.

If you bother looking, you will find that her family's "right" is still contested. Also there is belief that she was invalidly crowned. Weather she was or not it matters little since she's broken her coronation oath.

Anyway, if you're a fan of Elizabeth II, you should be content with the republican form of government and whatever #### the mob elects to office.

Yes I'm aware of this, the other house which has a legitimate claim is the House of Wittelsbach and that Duke Franz is the legitimate heir to the House of Stuart. Certainly if it was the 17th Century I would have been a Jacobite, but unfortunately it is not the 17th century and the heretic William of Orange became King by act of parliament. Do I like this fact? Of course not, but it is history none the less. My Queen is the Queen of Canada, and for now that is all that matters.

Still I would gladly fight to put a Catholic back on the throne, and I have no doubt that there will be again some day. However for there to be a Catholic on a throne, there must be a throne left for them to occupy. That is one of the reasons why I'm a High Tory, the Canadian Throne and that of the other Realms is an institution with the origins in the rule of Catholic kings and I have no doubt that a Catholic will reign from it once more!

As for my feelings regarding the neo republican system we now have in Canada, don't be ridicules in assuming that I'm happy with it! Frankly I'm far from it! I believe in Parliament, but when the Queen and Governor General refuse to use their remaining constitutional powers to defend the institution and Christian morality, you're damn right that I have a problem with it! For now however I'm going to assume the attitude of St. Thomas More and be my Queen's good servant but God's first!

    God Save the Queen!  :king:
