Personal Connections to CV

  • Considering how rapidly we are told CV is spreading and how the infections and deaths are exploding, I am wondering:

Does anyone here actually know a single person or people with CV, alive or, +RIP+, dead?  I am just wondering because I do not, nor have I seen posts on CI or FB, etc., discussing cases involving people known to the one who is posting, commenting, etc.

For clarity: I know that it has been reported that Tom Hanks, for example, has or had CV.  I know who Hanks is, of course, but I do not know him personally.  I know of no one with whom I have crossed paths in my four-plus decades on earth who has CV.  I am a fairly well-traveled, experienced and socially-active person, yet...zero.  Perhaps that will change, even incalculably, before all is said and done, but, as of now...zero.

I'd love to hear testimony to the contrary.  Thank you.

  • I asked this same question almost a week ago-Again, I repeat that I work for a healthcare company and go to between 6 and 10 nursing facilities a day ( nursing homes, L-TACHS, long term intensive care, Rehabs.)
Some of these facilities are packed with unconscious, extremely fragile patients that will never get off their ventilators. They are sitting ducks for ANY infection that is out there. The regular flu made the rounds, but so far no Corona from what I've seen.
There are new Corona virus rules- no visitors, etc, but I have not come upon one pt with stated virus. Things seem to be operating as usual outside of these new regulatory rules.
Now, I'm sure that these people are NOT being tested, but I would think this population would be decimated by this bug. I work in and around a large metropolitan area.
Of course, this is all anecdotal to my personal experience, but it is in direct opposition to the hysteria going on.

  • Thank you for taking the time to repeat your testimony.  I have not been back long enough to have seen the vast majority of recent discussions on this or any other matter.

  • I didn't mean it in a deragatory sense! It is a great question to keep updated on. Thanks for asking- otherwise I feel a little ostracized for being a Corona skeptic, kind of like a h0Ɩ0h0αx denier- lol. Wait- revisionist!!

I did not take it that way.  All good :)

  • My mom was tested 2 days ago, waiting for results. Someone from her work had an immediate family member infected. A teacher and his wife from my school had it. A students father in my school has it.

  • My niece works at a hospital in a small town of about 26,000 people in Ohio ... there are 3 COVID patients there, 1 in ICU.

I myself have/had all the symptoms, but Ohio has a shortage of tests and are only testing first responders and "high-risk" people.  Instead, I used 30mg a day of Vitamin C, 800mcg of Selenium, etc. to treat it myself, and I'm feeling much better after about 3 days.

  • Thank you for sharing your experience.  Obviously we all want to respect others' privacy, etc., but it is very useful to get some sort of realistic take from trustworthy individuals.  Thanks again :)

  • Good question, and so far everyone I've asked, "Do you know anyone personally who has it?" has said no.

Did you really mean only 30 mg of Vitamin C ?  Here the smallest amount we can buy is 500 mg.
Will pray you continue to get better.

Sorry.  30 grams.  My brain was stuck between 30,000 mg and 30 g ... and I ended up conflating the two.

    Thank you.

  • I feel like I may have already had it but in early January.

My mother went overseas to visit her family and came back around the first week of the year. We shared a house for 3 days, as one does.

About 24 hours later, I experienced a super-dry cough, mild fever and basically, a type of flu. When I think about it now, it could be that I had COVID-19, even though it went away pretty quickly. Probably from someone on a plane because Chinese travel a lot and planes are gross. It may just be my overthinking.

  • My brother has been tested but does not expect to get the result for days since the lab is backed up.  When I spoke with him on the phone I could hear that he has a really bad cough.  Since he has been exposed, he is presumed to have it and he is in isolation with his family.

  • I think it has been in our area back in February.  It was a wicked flu with the same symptoms.  (Many people in our area have died. ) especially when they go to hospital and have a tube shoved down their throat.
May God bless you and keep you
