Haha!  No he certainly wasn't!  He was a Catholic GENIUS!

Modernists try to put a spin onto his DDE by suggesting that it supports euthanasia.

I would think you would be more in danger of the loss of your soul on the streets than safely at home living on family money.  Now, that aside, you should certainly try to find a job if for no other reason that to give yourself routine in your day and to meet new people (whom you can then try to subtly convert!)

Agreed.  That sounds sensible and God does not always demand radical actions.

As for converting people, with my home-alone position, it is impossible.  You have to go through so many steps.  I mostly try with people who are already on the road in some way, such as at SSPX or in Novus Ordo, but you can see how well that is working out by the amount who are ignoring me.

Lucky number Seven!  I try to stay positive despite the depressing mass burials of heads in the sand.

My first thought on the Double Effect was similar, that it could be used to justify NFP by certain clever sophists.  Is it true that Richard Ibranyi loathes St. Thomas, CM?  I notice he just calls him "Thomas."

It is not uncommon for those in scholastic circles to refer to St Thomas just as "Thomas" - it is not meant in a derogatory manner, merely as a quick way to refer to the master.  It is in a similar way that Aristotle is referred to as "The Philosopher" and St Paul as "The Apostle".  Having said that, I have no idea who Richard Ibranyi is or whether he is using the scholastic shortcut.

I don't know if what amariec is talking about is as "Novus Ordo" as we think.

When we cannot make it to confession, the second best option is to pray for a perfect contrition and for the remission of our sins.

Here's a prayer that you can say during the week when you can't make it to confession:

Prayer for Daily Neglects

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Sacred Heart of Jesus, with all its love, all its sufferings, and all its merits.

First - To expiate all the sins I have commited this day and during all my life. Glory Be...

Second - To purify the good I have done badly this day and during all my life. Glory Be...

Third - To supply for the good I ought to have done, and that I have neglected this day and during all my life. Glory Be...

-----------
also say the Confiteor and the Act of Contrition, etc.

If its impurity that you are struggling with, I have many prayers to recommend, but this one is easy to memorize and very effective:

O Guardian of virgins and holy father St. Joseph, into whose faithful keeping were entrusted Christ Jesus, Innoncence itself, and Mary, Virgin of virgins, I pray and beseech thee by these dear pledges, Jesus and Mary, that, being preserved from all uncleanness, I may with spotless mind, pure heart, and chaste body ever serve Jesus and Mary most chastely all the days of my life. Amen.

(I have more if you so wish)

Do you deny the validity of the Thuc consecrations, Ladislaus?

No.  I think that they're valid.
