What would you estimate is the percentage of Trads in the US population?

And also, what percent of Catholics in the US are trads?

Finally, what parts of the country are they concentrated in generally?

I am curious about this.

In L.A. there is the CMRI. There are probably 300 people that go to Queen of Angels. There are about 25 people at Our Lady of Lourdes. Then there are two SSPX chapels. I've never been there for Mass, but let's be generous and say they have 500 each in their flock. Then there are various independent chapels scattered around. They seem to be more like the size of Our Lady of Lourdes, with 25 people or so.

So in the greater Los Angeles area which has something like 15 million people, at most, there are 10,000 trads, and that is a blown-up figure, it's probably more like 5,000 or even 2,500. If you count those who go to Latin masses in VII as trads, that probably wouldn't inflate the numbers much.

There is a post in one of the sub-forum threads that says about 100,000 in U.S.
I cannot be sure. I think the thread was something to do with the number of adults being saved but I cannot find it.

You need to exclude Catholics (sic) who dissent on Church teaching, which would exclude 80 to 90 percent of parish-registered "Catholics."

There about 60 million Catholics in the world, some countries that are almost 100% Catholic. I'd estimate that about 45% of people in this world are Catholic, and of those who are Traditional I'd say around 25 or 30%.

However many Catholics there are registered at Novus Ordo parishes worldwide, I often wonder how many real Catholics there are among them?

I mean, there are some who knowingly dissent against what they know as Church teaching -- how is that any different from Luther and the other Protestants? At least the protestants had the integrity to leave the Church and start their own religion.

Some Catholics today want to cling to the name "Catholic", with all the glory thereof, but they want to dissent on various issues (birth control, male priesthood, nature of the Mass, universal salvation, etc)

And some Catholics push the envelope when it comes to being a "sinner" or "lax Catholic". When you hardly ever attend Mass, when your kids only show up for 1st communion and Confirmation, etc. -- how can you say you're Catholic? Mexican, maybe, but not Catholic.

You can be a sinner and at least TRY to be a Catholic. You know, attend Mass every week, go to Communion and Confession -- maybe read a book about the Catholic Faith once in a while? It's not that hard, really.

Better to be a sinner than a heretic. I think that a substantial number of Trad Catholics are sinners, but I have met very few (in spite of what some on this board are saying) that are heretics, unlike the NO where public heresy, even among priests and bishops, is rampant.

Traditional Catholic or not, we're all sinners. Unless by "sinners" you mean people whose souls are in a troublesome state.
