Biffi was one of the cardinal electors who participated in the 2005 papal conclave that selected Pope Benedict XVI. According to a leaked diary, he received one vote on the fourth ballot. In 2008, he turned 80 and lost the ability to participate in future conclaves.
Hmmmmm. Not a good sign.
I'd still say that if he was any good, he would have been purged a long time ago. After +40 years, the enemy has eliminated all obstacles and infiltrated all of the highest places of the Church - shoot, they purged probably 99% of the good clergy before 1975. They had to.
If there are any exceptions that have managed to remain under the Modernist's radar these last 4 decades, and there aren't, but if there are, the best that we could hope for would be that maybe a few compromisers are still around and maybe one of them gets elected.
I know some folks talk about this cardinal or that prelate being elected - but whoever gets elected will have been Novus Ordo, perhaps for the last 40 years - and certainly will not be one who has done anything to help stop this crisis - because if he ever tried to do anything about this crisis, he'd have met the same fate as +ABL, not to mention the 1000s of other clergy who were purged for rejecting the NO.
Who here can deny that every single member of the clergy who has ever raised their voice against V2 and the NO have been consistently purged from the ranks - this has been going on since V2.
