  • I recently got a Our Lady of Guadalupe chaplet, however, my one is set out like the regular five decade Marian rosary.

I can't seem to find how to pray this rosary, can anyone help?

  • I think it's the Rosario Guadalupano ( Guadalupan Rosary). It's pretty much the Dominican Rosary, except with the "Guadalupan Mysteries."

First mystery: The Virgin brings a message of peace for her people:

"Know and understand well, you [Juan Diego] the most humble of my sons, that I am the ever Virgin, Holy Mary, Mother of the True God for whom we live, of the Creator of all things, Lord of heaven and the earth. I wish that a temple be erected here quickly, so I may therein exhibit and give all my love, compassion, help, and protection, because I am your merciful mother.."

[Ask the Virgin Mary for all those who do not know her and do not value her as Mother]

Second Mystery: Juan Diego shows his humility to the Virgin, and his smallness before the eyes of men.

I exceedingly beg You, My Lady and my Girl, that you entrust the delivery of your message to someone of importance, well known, respected, and esteemed, so that they may believe in him; because I am a little man, I am a small rope, a tiny ladder, the tail end, a leaf, an insignificant person..."

[Ask the Virgin Mary that she may help us to know the value of humility and simplicity of heart]

Third mystery: Mary of Guadalupe chose  Juan Diego because of his simplicity,  not because of his knowledge:

Hark, my son, the least of all; you must understand that I have many servants and messengers, to whom I can entrust the delivery of my message, and carry my wish, but it is of precise detail that you yourself solicit and assist and that through your mediation my wish be complied...

[Ask the Virgin to help us to know how to transmit the Word of Christ to the rest]

Forth Mystery: The Virgin cures Juan Bernardino as a sign to show that she wants health and happiness for her people.

"Hear me and understand well, my son the least of all, that nothing should frighten or grieve you. Let not your heart be disturbed. Do not fear that sickness, nor any other sickness or anguish. Am I not here, I, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow? Am I not your health? Are you not by chance within my lap? What else do you need? Do not grieve nor be disturbed by anything. Do not be afflicted by the illness of your uncle, who will not die now of it. Be assured that he is now cured..."

[Ask the Virgin Mary that, like Juan Diego, we may accompany in sickness, anguish, and sorrow those who are close to us.]

Fifth mystery: Mary leaves us her image as a reminder of her tenderness, love, and constant protection.

"My son the least of all, this diversity of roses is the proof and the sign which you will take to the bishop. You will tell him in my name that he will see in them my wish and that he will have to comply to it. You are my ambassador, most worthy of all confidence..

[Ask the Virgin Mary that, like her,  we may know to listen to and help our brothers]

And here is a nice ending orayer:

Remember,  O most merciful Virgin Mary of Guadalupe, that in your celestial apparitions on the mountain of Tepeyac you promised to show your clemency and compassion to those of us who love you and seek after you soliciting your protection; those of us who call you in our labors and afflictions.  Offering to listen to our prayers, to dry our tears and give us consolation and relief. Never has it been heard that any of us who have implored your aid in public necessities and in our private anguishes, have been abandoned. With this confidence we come to you, ever Virgin Mary Mother of The True God, and though agonizing beneath the weight of our sins, we come to prostrate ourselves in your sovereign presence, assured that you shall deign to mercifully fulfill your promises; we hope that nothing shall disturb or afflict us, and we hope that we needn't fear any sickness or frightful accident,  being under your shadow and protection. And if any of these things God allows to afflict us,  we hope to strive to comply with His will and not lose hope; since in your admirable image you have desired to stay with us, you who are our Mother, our health and life. Being within your maternal lap and going through everything according to your estimation, we shall not need any other thing. Do not despise, O Holy Mother of God,  our supplications, but instead incline to them your compassionate ears and listen to us favorably. Amen
