  • How would one respond to the objections of the Easterns about the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts? They claim that we worship body parts....? That  we are nestorians who seperate Christ's divinity and humanity?

    Thanks

  • Here are some options:

    1. Ignore it because it's such a ridiculous assertion.

    2. Explain to them how icons depict Christ in different stances in order to emphasise one of His characteristics, e.g. Christ Pantocrator emphasises His power. Then tell them that the Sacred Heart is the exact same thing, that the heart is a symbol of His charity; just as when Christ is depicted holding a book, the book is a symbol of His wisdom. The aim of the devotion to the Sacred Heart is the meditation on the love that Christ has for us.

    3. Tell them that if devotion to the Sacred Heart is the worship of a body part, then hesychasm is the worship of the belly (they'll know what this means).

  • The Eastern Orthodox are heretics and schismatics who are outside of the Church. If they die as Eastern Orthodox they will go to hell. Blind guides. Might as well listen to a "good" Protestant, for there is no difference between them:

St. Peter Julian Eymard – Bad Catholic vs Good Protestant

People often say, “It is better to be a good Protestant than a bad Catholic.” That is not true! That would mean that one could be saved without the true faith. No. A bad Catholic remains a child of the family, although a prodigal; and however great a sinner he may be, he still has a right to mercy. Through his faith, a bad Catholic is nearer to God than a Protestant, for he is a member of the household, whereas the heretic is not. And how hard it is to make him become one!

The Vatican II church - Assisting Souls to Hell Since 1962

For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. Mat 24:24

  • Do the Orthodox worship the Most Precious Blood of Christ? I would think so, since they do have valid consecrations and the Eucharist...

They can worship the Blood of Christ but not the heart?
We conclude logically that religion can give an efficacious and truly realistic answer to the great modern problems only if it is a religion that is profoundly lived, not simply a superficial and cheap religion made up of some vocal prayers and some ceremonies...
