  • I'd like this thread to be dedicated to a Traditionalist perspective on Opus Dei. Not so much DaVinci code conspiracy stuff, but examining their organization from the structural component (numeraries/ supernumeraries, etc) to their spirituality (work is prayer, etc.)

I know the Society has a booklet on the topic but it really isn't what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a more comprehensive review of this organization from a Traditional Catholic perspective.

One point I'd like to explore is the development of Opus Dei pre-VCII. I believe they got approval from Pius XII at some point.

Since Opus Dei has been fully approved by the Church with their founder being declared a Saint and their activities being an attractive option to many Trads with no Latin Mass nearby, I thought it prudent to conduct a running examination.

If sedes want to participate that's fine, but only to the extent you comment substantively regarding what I mentioned above  and not about the whole sede issue. I'm looking for a discussion of the entity of Opus Dei and how it compares to Traditional teaching and practice.

Any resources you can point me to would help as well. Thanks!
