Author Topic: Opinion on Cathinfo smilies? (Read 1240 times)

I deleted a few of the lesser-used ones, so they wouldn't take up so much of the screen.

I also made the block of smilies WIDER so it could be shorter -- I hate having to scroll down a bunch to get to the "Reply" or "Create Topic" button.

What do you think of the current selection of smilies?

Am I missing any (if so, you need to give me a few to delete)
Should I get rid of some more?

And how does Cathinfo work for your computer monitor -- should the smilies block be even wider, or more narrow?

Should I make the total size smaller (=fewer smilies)?

Hmm... it was a great thing you deleted some smilies. I'm not much in using them.

I think it's better if you delete the other 4 so it is 8 by 7 box

Personally, I don't care much for smilies. The stationary ones that don't move are OK, but the ones that move are so distracting. They are cute, and of course, as the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words, but...well, that's my opinion.

FWIW, I dont like the smileys at all. They are distracting and unprofessional looking. I've tried to use them in the past, but I cannot help thinking they make one's posts appear silly.

I think the blue ones are very nice, but it's kind of silly that you've got repeats (like the "rofl") and some that are so out of the ordinary I'm not likely ever to use them, except to show you which ones they are...

Really, it'd be nice to get a big, uniform set of them in, like the blue ones, only maybe some more of them. The red "crabbies" are pretty much as 'likable' as the blues. A couple are funny even though low res...

Still, I can't help but think it would be much cooler if we had all the funny ones in uniform format... ... ... >senses what Chant may be thinking, covers up photoshop icon and whistles<

Ok, seriously, I have attempted to master the super quality smiley a few times at least, and strangely, it's the one thing I can't seem to do. I have no idea why. But maybe if I get really bored some day I'll try again. These are (animated/not) gifs right? Seems like you're not very discriminatory about sizes, either... that would make it easier...

But the blue ones and the red ones should stay. ^,^

I deleted the vomiting one, the "furtive look" (looking side to side) a rather low-quality one, and the guy reading the newspaper with his wife coming up to him (cute, but WHEN would you ever use that one?)

Should I delete the Rastafarian banana?
I already have a dancing banana for happy occasions -- do we want a banana of the Rastafarian religion? That religion includes smoking pot as a sacrament of sorts...

I deleted the Rastafarian (Bob Marley) banana, and the "headbanger" for good measure.

He was giving the satanic "goats head" symbol, for one...

Have you an animator program? I have some smiles I made that you can look at, but you'd have to animate a couple... They're blue and semi-shiny. I made one for 'singing' that turned out pretty cute, IMO.

I probably have an animator, but... they're so tedious. x.x
