  • Does anyone else get annoyed when people bring their dogs into stores? I see it happening more and more. I sometimes see people bringing them into eating establishments, which is disgusting and unsanitary. It seems that the reason for the increase in this behavior is due to the fact that a number of people today put animals on the same level as humans. How I pine for the days of my youth and before when insanity was not so prevalent.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?

  • Up here only service dogs are allowed into stores and restaurants. Such critters are very few and far in between.

This does not chnage the fact though that animals are treated on the same level of humans. We live in a world gone bonkers in extremis.

It really is crazy. I notice how younger people think nothing of it.

I've seen many humans act beneath the dignity of animals in my lifetime here anyway.

I also know a number of people, the company of whose pets I greatly prefer to that of their owners!

Dogs in stores are increasing where I live, and it is disturbing.  Also, even though we have a law in the city in which I live, the dog owners still do not all pick up after their dogs, and their stuff is left for me to deal with in front of my house. This is disturbing to say the least.

  • We were visiting the Cathedral of Ferrara (Italy) and there we saw a woman waliking her dog inside the Cathedral. My husband approached the priest and he knew about it, telling my husband that she had comfort from the dog because she had recently lost a son. Yes, but never in my life have I seen a dog inside the Church, my husband told the priest. AH, but it's just common sense, said the priest. My husband responded, There is no common sense any more. And the priest walked away.

In Rovigo, in the bar on the railway station a dog was on the chair and eating from the table. My husband informed the bar man and he didn't blink an eye, but looked at my husband like he was a porkchop in a ѕуηαgσgυє.

Italy is a really bad place for dogs out of place.

Funny thing is I’ve been to Italy many times and haven’t experienced those things, but I see similar things in the US almost on a daily basis.

  • I put it down to the fact that so many Italians don't have children.

    Compare Italy  - 7.39 per 1000 people with U.S. - 11.99 per 1000 people

    The dogs fill a hole!

I am a dog lover myself but I can't stand to see people kissing dogs or letting dogs lick their faces! Don't they know where that tongue has been?

Good point. Yeah, that is really gross. I’ve even seen people share an ice cream cone with their dog. 🤢

Have you ever noticed and I'm stating this with all sincerity, the striking resemblance between some dog owners and their pets? Even in their mannerisms, I don't know if that's some kind of things grow together in nature or something, but I know of one dog owner and his mutt actually walk the same. Incredible.

  • Thankfully, the only time I have seen a dog in a church was at a Novus ordo service which wasn't too long before I stopped going to those altogether.
