  • The first reading from Genesis replaced "She shall crush your head and you shall strike Her heel" with "He shall crush your head and you shall strike His heel."

The Gospel reading from Saint Luke replaced "Hail, full of grace!" with "Greetings, most favoured one."

Made me kinda wonder what all the hub-bub over the Blessed Virgin was all about.

I can see that I have my work cut out for me in getting those Prostentized translations obliterated from the readings.

I ask for the aid of the most holy Mother of God in my endeavor.

Very nice. Sing praises to Her, the Virgin Daughter of Zion.

The first example is due to the fact that they were translating the Hebrew, not the Vulgate.

The second one is mostly a matter of really bad taste and shoddy English.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

If I am not mistaken, I do believe the Vulgate is older than most Hebrew manuscripts in existence.
