  • I will try to convert many of my family members, they are all Novus Ordo.

One of the biggest things that they do is, directly and indirectly, approve of other's sins, immorality, immodesty, flatter other people and be overall complacent and indifferent, religiously and morality-wise. I guess 99% of Novus Ordos are like this anyways. Now the focus is only on being "nice" with everyone, and never daring to "judge" or rebuke and correct anyone either.

While most of them are in principle against some of the sins, they nevertheless approve of them by their words, actions and omissions.

They all mingle, bless and are complacent with adulterers, sodomites, effeminates, "divorced Catholics", family members living in fornication and without being married, heretics, non-Catholics and things of that nature. They all go to baby showers of unwed mothers.

While i have a few things on this matter, like what St. Francis says in the Devout Life and some of the things Fr. Sretenovic has written, i wish i had more "ammo" and more specific Church teachings on this matter.

The best ammunition you can have is holiness of life. If you are not living the holiness that God is calling you to then no ammount of argument or debate will do.

That's a given, as is prayer, and i by no means said otherwise, but of course you must also preach and tell them yourself if you know and if you have the knowledge.

If it all were holiness and prayer only, then there would be no missions and no one would say anything to anyone.

All things have to go combined.

    Prudence is wha tis needed. Sometimes silence is best when talking only makes matters worse. There is a story in the life of St Dominic Savio;
One day St Dominic was with his friend and they heard someone use very bad language. Dominic corrected him. The man accepted his correction and said you are right and I am sorry. later on they heard another man say the same thing. Dominic remained silent.  The friend asked St Dominic why he didn't say anything when in the earlier instant he had. Dominic said that in the first instant his saying something did some good. In the second instant hs could see that it would have been a waste of time to say anything. In fact it would have made the situation worse.

  • Just mention a SSPX, CMRI, or independent Mass, TLM, or some Christian practice that is more conservative than they are, and suddenly you will hear them take a stance on something.

If you listen to Bishop Williamson's sermons he often mentions modernism and how modern man is, I think it will be a comfort to you.

  • Boloki,

First, never set foot in a novus ordo church and tell your novus ordo buddies why.  Don't hold back.

I know it's more like shock therapy, but show them the video "What We Have Lost and the Road to Restoration".  It can be found on youtube but you should look up the website and buy a copy.

    Ask questions.

Ask things like "Why did the church teach X for 19 hundred years and now it's spouting Z2Z?"

Ask them why Our Lord said He was the Truth the Way and the Light and that NO ONE goes to the Father except through Him and now we have popes saying that everybody is perfectly okay and that there are other ways to Heaven.

Pray for novus ordites, specific ones that you would like to see find their way out of the spiritual darkness of the novus ordo.

Remember, you must lead and never go into a novus ordo church except with someone who you want to point out all the abuses and inconsistencies.

Some missions fail though.  Holiness and prayer never fail.

  • Ggreg is right - prayer does not fail!  Holiness either, but that's a horse of a different color.

  •  :thinking:My family will not listen to arguments or even discuss religion at all, with me or anyone.  All I have is prayer, as St. Padre Pio said.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.
