I was reading in one of the Old T books earlier and it prophecies Jesus coming on an ass, and poor.

In Proverbs or Psalms (can't recall which) it says that the poor are hated even by their friends (which means they have no friends) while the rich are loved by all...

I once told a protestant that Jesus was poor.

OMG, what a reaction i got

"NO He wasn't!"

Please...

  • let's see: born in a manger where animals are normally housed

    never owned anything

    no fixed abode

"Foxes have holes... the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head"

sounds strangely like--- one of those *&^%$# homeless people who "don't want to work"

    :really-mad2:

  • For thousands of years God forbade the poor, blind, deformed, lame and infirm to enter the Temple.
    .
They were outcasts, not only by cultural fads but by divine command.
    .
Jesus came to overturn that outdated custom, and to bring it to perfection with the theological virtue of charity.

i have read the Old Testament and I don't recall the poor being barred from the Temple. The blind and "deformed" could not be priests but that is all. I don't recall them being barred from being in the Temple, so I think you are highly mistaken
