Title: Number of Rosaries
Post by: Malleus on March 22, 2015, 12:10:24 AM
If one were to be able to pray two 15 decade Rosaries every day for 15 days, would that count as if one were to pray one 15 decade Rosary every day for a month? If done for a month (two 15 decade Rosaries every day), would that count as if you had prayed it for 2 months?

No.  According to indulgences given in the Raccolta's from as far back as the first English translation in 1857, the devotion , whether the rosary or a prayer, was to be said DAILY.

I guess the whole idea is to make a sacrifice daily, not all in one day and get it over with.  I believe this is what is meant by perseverence.

I didn't mean it like that. I didn't even have indulgences in mind. I didn't think like "I'll pray two 15 decade Rosaries for 15 days to get the benefits from praying one Rosary for a month and stop there." and then going 2 weeks or a month without praying it at all and then doing it again for another 2 weeks etc. No, that's not what I meant. I meant it as something done long-term, every day, indefinitely.

Praying two 15 decade Rosaries every day isn't that easy, you have to plan it carefully because if not you will have to pray several Rosaries in a row to finish before midnight and that may be tough sometimes.

Sorry but now I'm confused.  If you are doing it indefinitely I don't understand the "would it count for 2 months"
Count what if not indulgences or graces.

And if you're not counting indulgences what are you counting?

Obviously you would get double the graces and indulgences.

I'm kinda confused myself too now.

But you're saying that if you do pray two 15 decade Rosaries in a day, you get double the graces and indulgences? Does this mean that, if you can, praying more will always be more effective? There's never a point in the spiritual life where praying more will give you zero advantages/graces/benefits/etc.?

Praying more, rather than praying less, is a good thing.
