  • I haven't really looked into it but it's supposed to be a prayer by St. Ignatius of Loyola. This version is a Novus Ordo pop music and a vernacular would-be Gregorian Chant blend.

I can't help but be repelled by it.

I hate Novus Ordo modern touchy feely music as it is, and now they pretend to blend it with this vernacular "Gregorian Chant", it makes me even more infuriated.

Some Novus Ordo uncles i have consider this some sort of "elevated" liturgical music and they're all awed by it and stuff. Agh! Well why shouldn't they, bombarded as they are with decades of banal, touchy-feely Novus Ordo "music".

Ironically, the original chant was much more 'feel-good' than this shallow crap. I know a felt a lot better listening to the original than this, that's for sure.

    No, the original Gregorian Chant.

Can you post a link for the one you're referring to? Is it on youtube?

I noticed something else on the video: the use of vernacular, not latin, "chant"; as far as i know it was always in latin.

  • To the Gregorian Chant? Here:
