  • I heard about this a while back, but some of you may not have.

A while ago, Google started production on what it hoped would be the next generation "e-mail" concept. The idea was that email, which was a concept of yesteryear, was far too restricted for today's media-happy and instant-chat-loving age. So they decided to make something different.

What they made was "Google Wave."

Some people laughed at first... I was skeptical myself. Even from the "king of email" (as I thought of them), this was an ambitious project. But while there may be a small learning curve to get into it, I realized that they were onto something.

Google Wave really does take "email" to the next level. You can get entire groups of people in on a conversation, with all kinds of media, and in general communicate like you've never communicated with email before. This is "fully multimedia", real-time, interactive "chat mail" ... and I think those who are bold and brave with computers and this sort of thing will probably get a kick out of it.

So I decided to pass the word along.

I first saw Google wave when it was in it's closed beta phase. Looks like it's open to public now, so... everyone who wants to give this next-generation vision of email a shot, can go on over to google wave's site, and learn all about it, and sign up if they want.
I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • Do you work for Google?  It sounds like you're writing ad copy!
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • No, I don't work for them. I just thought it was a really cool concept, and thought it was a shame more people didn't know about it.

I can't speak for the politics or ethics or morals of the people who run google, but... they've had some pretty cool ideas.

  • I'm ashamed I posted it now. I've been hearing some pretty disturbing things about the google "empire" recently. I now feel convinced that it's not advisable to say anything in your google mail/wave accounts that you wouldn't want *ahem* ... "others" ... to read.

    Maybe that's just conjecture but...
