Thought I would share this email from the world's largest website devoted exclusively to the Shroud of Turin. The man who set it up and still runs it Barrie Schwortz is a rather interesting individual. He is Jєωιѕн and says he believes that the image on the Shroud is that of Jesus Christ and yet he says he does not believe that this person is God. (I know -- go figure!) To his magnificent credit, he, of all people, has in my opinion perhaps done more than any person on the face of the earth to promote interest (with all that that entails) in the Shroud and yet he remains Jєωιѕн. (Please consider joining with probably many others who continue to pray for his conversion.) Just type in his name on an Internet search to find all kinds of fascinating -- including videos -- accounts of his life story. Some may be cynical and just think he does all this for the money, but I think there is a lot more to it than that.
Life size prints (both the negative with more detail and the regular photo image) of the Shroud of Turin were donated to the SSPX Seminary in Winona some years ago and they are still there. (Apparently, they will remain there and not be transferred to the new seminary in Virginia.) Br. Marcel prepared beautiful frames for the placement of the images.

Dear ........, It has been a full six months since our last website update, the longest we have ever gone without one in our 22+ year history! Consequently, with such a huge backlog, this Spring/Summer Update is a big one. As I mentioned in January, this year marks the 40th anniversary of the first ever in-depth scientific examination of the Shroud of Turin by the Shroud of Turin Research Project (STURP) on October 8-13, 1978. In commemoration of that historic event, we are celebrating the anniversary year with some special STURP materials in each of our updates and today's is no exception. For the first time ever, the original STURP Test Plan that was submitted to King Umberto II, the owner of the Shroud in 1978, and on which he based his authorization for our testing, is now available on Shroud.com. This update also brings you seven more issues of Rex Morgan's Shroud News, more information on the special youth pilgrimage and Shroud exhibition authorized by Pope Francis for August 2018, announcement of an international Shroud conference in 2019, obituaries for several departed Shroud scholars, many new books, papers, articles, videos and much more. This one should keep you busy for a while! We are planning to include some new items on our Private Subscribers Page in the near future, so check that page from time to time for updates. You should also check our Facebook page between our regular website updates for any breaking news since we try to update it frequently.
