  •   Hello my name is Frank Balkus, I'm 47 years old male, born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Westland, Michigan.
I began attending the SSPX summer of 1979. I became an altar boy for the church, and seen quite a bit of history including serving several times for his Excellency Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre. I also served for Bishop Williamson when he was still a Priest. I attended the meeting of the nine priests, that later quit the SSPX and formed other parishes.
I am married with two young daughters, and presently live in Columbus Ohio. I have been without the SSPX for some years now, I go when I can get up to Detroit to visit my Mother.
I am a licensed aircaft mechanic and I work for American Eagle Airlines. The company is going out of business, and I'm hoping with the help of your prayers, is to get another good job, close to an SSPX church, or any approved Latin Mass Center.
I am also looking for my long lost friend Father James Doran, any info on him where I may be able to correspond with him would be greatly appreciated. Thank You and God Bless...Feel free to drop me an email anytime. :pc:

  • Welcome and here is a post from last year saying Fr. Doran is at St. Michael the Archangel in Farmingville, NY.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

  • Hello Mr. Balkus.

    Welcome to Cathinfo!
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Welcome, Frank.

I'd try looking for some mechanic jobs in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul). The SSPX chapel here is only 10-15 minutes from the airport and it's a nice place to be.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

  • I'm from Ohio. Columbus is so much bigger than when I was a child, I can't believe how much it has grown. Not much in the way of mass in C-bus but the zoo there is great! Welcome.

Welcome, Mr. B!  Fr. Doran is on Long Island, NY at St. Michael the Archangel.  The chapel # is 631-736-6515.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Yes, Father Doran is one of the two priests at St. Michael's in Long Island. He also says Mass at St. Christopher's Mission in New York City, where I attend Mass.

Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • Welcome aboard Frank.  It is great to have you here.

Just think when you were born in Detroit, Michigan 47
years ago, that was the hay day of Detroit being the
    automobile capital of the World.
