  •  :dancing-banana:
A common Catholic family name on both sides; a middle name; like St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis Xavier, St. Francis de Sales, St. Frances Cabrini.  A good, all-purpose name that I don't mind being called IRL.  The crab avatar goes with St. Francis Xavier.  I keep pet crabs.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I'm a mama and very happy about that, and cha cha is what I call my daughter because she used to take half steps when she was learning to walk and it looked like she was doing the cha cha.

  • I decided to pick a name that was as unlike me as possible.  Sigismund was the only Unitarian king in history, and was a Transylvanian.  I am none of these things, so it fit the bill.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

    So that's it!

Very interesting topic, SG.  It should be linked to "Introduce Yourself".

    User names either :
    1) intrigue me as in " I wonder what that means to this person?", i.e., Sigismund, Pelly  (and many others)
    2)  elevate my contemplation i.e., Soulguard, Frances  (and many others)  or
    3) make me smile i.e., Mamachacha, Neil Obstat

Re: mine.  When I came to tradition 12 years ago, I was particularly fascinated by the whisper of the priest after the Gospel.  I looked up what he was praying and it touched my soul for some reason.

We need a thread "What Mass prayers or parts of prayers do you find most inspiring?"

  • I came to Tradition around the same time I read The Interior Castle by St. Teresa of Avila. At the time I felt I was only in the 1st mansion, as she described it. I added 'tenant' because it was (is) my intention to continue to move forward, and not to stay forever (own)  in the first one.

  • It honors Our Lord as it means "Jesus, the King" in Dutch. I'm not of Dutch ancestry, rather Hispanic, but I can speak it at a relatively conversational level.
