Well, this should make for an interesting episcopate.

Blessings and best wishes to the new archbishop.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • No amount of money in all the world could convince me to take that job.  My prayers are with him.

  • He certainly has his work cut out for him, made more difficult by the embarrassing performance of his predecessors stretching back for decades.

  • It will make for an interesting chapter in an American Church History book if they try.

I have mentioned before a business associate and friend who is ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ.  I sent him this story.  He replied, "Is this where they send bishops who make enough cardinals REALLY mad?  Sort of like being Archbishop of the Lion's Den."

  • I did.  I hope the new archbishop does as well.

This particular friend is an enigma to me.  He is an apostate Catholic, and is now a Unitarian.  He has a degree in theology, and is actually quite knowledgeable about the Bible and church history.  He is scrupulously honest, and I have trusted him with large sums of money in business dealings and have never been disappointed.  He has many natural virtues, and his continuing separation from the church is a source of real sadness to me.  I pray for his return to the Church daily.  He actually respects real Catholics, and finds the hypocrisy of liberal Catholics disgusting.

I hope he has a food taster.

  • What rubbish!

If Cordileone is such a macho Catholic, where is his track record?

I can't believe that anyone here is getting sucked into the spin of a gullible Novus Ordo blog.  So Cordileone is slightly more conservative than Schexnayder, so what? What a bunch of  dialectical manipulation.

Anyone remember who was supposed to be the "panzer Pope," the big "conservative" hope?  You know, the change agent "subsisting in" the Chair of Peter who put the likes of Levada and Mueller in charge of Doctrine.

The Diocese of Oakland went through this charade in 2001.  Outgoing homo-enabler cuмmins was replaced by another great conservative hope, Vigneron. Did one thing change?  One little tiny thing? No!  The same heretics and fαɢɢօts were there when Vigneron left and the same heretics and fαɢɢօts will be there when Cordileone leaves Oakland AND San Francisco.

It is risible that anyone would be a sucker for this baloney again.

Exactly! As incredible as it is, people will forget everything if a bishop appears the slightest bit more conservative that the others.

  • This Archbishop allows for no genuflecting and/or kneeling for receiving the wafer. The devil has no knees.

  • Interesting indeed.  I for one am wishing His Grace well in what will no doubt be a very difficult and challenging ministry.

  • He is obviously not a valid archbishop
Francis is an Antipope. Pray that God will grant us a good Pope and save the Church.
