  • How good is the recently released NAB?

Is it a good choice for trads or not? If not what Bible version would be recommended, RSV, Ignatius bible ,etc.

  • The old NAB was horrendous. I can't imagine a new version would be much better.

Obviously you should be using this...

  • From what little I have seen of it, the new one is a tremendous improvement.  It is still no that great though.  The Haydock DRV is the way to go.

Stevus is correct.  The Douay is the Catholic Bible and is the most reliable volume beyond question.  The Haydock is excellent as well.
The NAB is a Judaized, manipulated, modernist translation. Poison to the Catholic Faith.

  • Thought I might pique some curiosity here among those of you who have not yet read that Chiesa Viva in the crisis section. One of the things the Freemasons wanted to do was this:

    13. In the Gospel reading omit the word "Holy. " For example: instead of "Gospel according to St. John" only say "Gospel According to John. " You make (them) think they ought not to worship more. Write continuously new translations of the Bible until they are worse than those used by Protestants. Omit the adjective "Holy" in the expression "Holy Spirit". This will pave the road. Highlight the nature of "feminine" of God as a mother full of tenderness. Eliminate the use of the term "Father. "

Don't go for the new ones. You're just asking to be misled.
    Matthew 5:37

But let your speech be yea, yea: no, no: and that which is over and above these, is of evil.
