Title: My wife's family and the N.O. "church"
Post by: Gwaredd Thomas on November 25, 2017, 12:21:49 PM
My wife's family has stuck tight to their Nervous Disorder "catholic" church all of their lives. My father-in-law has not been to church for 40 years; he has fourth stage cancer so he's not to be around but for a year at most. Both my wife and I have talked with him and a Society priest drove all the way from Winona to the eastern side of Wisconsin to administer the Last Rights to my mother-in-law at 2 am: she's not going to last too much longer either. My father-in-law refused such an offer.

When asked why he refused at least the Sacrament of Confession his reply was: "why should I, I'd just end-up committing the same sins over again.

Next, I wrote to my sister-in-law and expressed my concern over the state of dads soul. Her reply: "he's basically a good person so God will over-look his faults".

So there you have it. What the N.O. has done to one family in this "church" of inclusion.

I have similar feelings.  The bad teaching makes me very angry.  I am especially upset by the common idea among Novus Ordo Catholics that Jєωs are saved by being good Jєωs rather than accepting Christ.  People who have accepted that falsehood don't even understand that Jєωs need to convert and do not pray for them.  Since I am a convert from Judaism, most of my relatives are Jєωιѕн.  Both my parents died during the past year and I have no real hope for there salvation.  I feel personally hurt and betrayed by the false teaching that is being spread in the name of the Catholic Church.

I'm very sorry to hear that about your parents; it is, I'm sure, very painful for you as it is for my dear wife. I never really experienced a "hardness of heart" until I had this discussion with my father-in-law.

You're a convert from Judaism: that, my friend, is a miracle of Grace. Welcome home!

It is when one experiences the consequences of bad teaching that one understands just how serious it is.

You're a convert from Judaism: that, my friend, is a miracle of Grace. Welcome home!

It really does feel like a miracle.  I am very thankful.

OP - did the sspx priest even have an opportunity to speak with your father in law?

Yes; and the answer was no thank you! but express a bit differently.
