Then unfortunately you deny the infallible declaration of Vatican 1:

he set blessed Peter over the rest of the apostles and
instituted in him the PERMANENT principle of both unities and
        their visible foundation.

        we judge it necessary,
with the approbation of the sacred council, and
for the protection, defence and growth of the catholic flock,
to propound the doctrine concerning the
            institution,
            permanence and
            nature
of the sacred and apostolic primacy,
upon which the strength and coherence of the whole church depends.

This doctrine is to be believed and held by all the faithful in accordance with the ancient and unchanging faith of the whole church.
Furthermore, we shall proscribe and condemn the contrary errors which are so harmful to the Lord's flock.

and place yourself in a state of damnation.

Furthermore, in this one Church of Christ no man can be or remain who does not accept, recognize and obey the authority and supremacy of Peter and his legitimate successors."

Pope Pius XI, Encyclical, Mortalium animos, January 6, 1928,

    Good heavens, you are presumptuous.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • To Sigismund:

How so you say I am presumptious?

It is necessary for salvation to be subject in heart to (a valid) Sovereign Pontiff:

"Furthermore, in this one Church of Christ no man can be or remain who does not accept, recognize and obey the authority and supremacy of Peter and his legitimate successors."

(Pope Pius XI, Encyclical, Mortalium animos, January 6, 1928)

This authority is distinct from his own personal behaviour. We have no authority to depose him from the Seat of Peter because by personal judgement, we count him a heretic. NOW THAT IS PRESUMPTIOUS!

It is a delusion of the devil to think that one can do this and attain salvation.

Best stop sniping at Pope Francis and pray for him:

    1 Corinthians 8:11

"And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ hath died?

True Catholicism sees everything from the sight of love in the heart not through formalism.

    Mithrandylan says:

"Instead you just move on to the next canned reply, the "perpetual successors" canard.  It doesn't apply,"

    Infallible Vatican 1 declares:

    Therefore, if anyone says that:

    it is not by the institution of Christ the lord himself (that is to say, by divine law) that blessed Peter should have perpetual successors in the primacy over the whole church;

    or that

the Roman pontiff is not the successor of blessed Peter in this primacy:

    let him be anathema.

    Whose judgement shall we accept?

    Sacred Scripture says:

    1 Timothy 6:3-5

"If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to that doctrine which is according to godliness,  He is proud, knowing nothing, but sick about questions and strifes of words; from which arise envies, contentions, blasphemies, evil suspicions,  Conflicts of men corrupted in mind, and who are destitute of the truth,"

    St Augustine says:

"In Christ's Church, those are heretics, who hold mischievous and erroneous opinions, and when rebuked that they may think soundly and rightly, offer a stubborn resistance, and, refusing to mend their pernicious and deadly doctrines, persist in defending them."

The instances of interregnum are not to be confused with "there being no pope" as it is a matter of valid election and the post V2 popes are all validly elected.

Is trying to justify yourself of higher value than your own salvation? God does not hinder human free-will. It is your own choice. And you can't say you haven't been warned!

Obedience to the popup window (or whatever you call it) that appeared when I tried to upvote yet another of your posts here demands that I get out the pompoms.  Will do.

And where would find the Tridentine Mass in the vernacular?  Certainly not in any Catholic Church, since this is an option permitted to no one.  No traditionalist group does this, and the NO does not permit this.  I have heard of Old Catholics doing this, and some very high church and conservative Anglicans doing something very close to this.  Surely you and the source you are quoting would not be suggesting that Catholics attend an Old Catholic or Anglican service.  But what, then?

    Sigs,

Don't quote me on this, but I believe there may be some Anglican Usage groups that were permitted by the Holy See to bring their vernacular Anglican'esque liturgy more into line with the Tridentine. Or were given permission to use the Sarum Missal.

On another note, our family is bi-ritual Latin & Byzantine. So a blessed Pascha to you! Christ is risen!

  • He is risen indeed!

A blessed Pascha to you as well.

I had not thought about the Anglican Usage Masses.  I don't know what the actual content of the liturgy is, but you may well be right.
