amariec,

Why do you say the Tridentine near your home isn't very traditional? Since you don't know much about that Mass, you must have gotton that info from someone else, so I'm just wondering where.

(For example, Traditio lists all Tridentine Mass locations, but doesn't "approve" of SSPX or EF Mass locations.)

If you can't travel the distance every week, go to the Tridentine Mass you have nearby, it's still likely much better
than the NO.

MaterDominici,
yes my church is on the Traditio list, however on the monthly revised versions, there are smiley face ratings, and mine is one of the many that has a frowny face next to it. The chapel that i did attend before that was not too close had a smiley face next to it.

Thank you to everyone who gave me feedback. It is greatly appreciated. God bless  :applause:

All that face means is that the publisher of that book doesn't completely approve of anything that isn't Sede or Independent. Whether or not your particular diocesan Tridentine Mass is very traditional or not so traditional, that book won't know. Both of the Masses we have available here would have a frown in that listing. Don't let that alone keep you away.

You can also buy  The New Roman Missal by Fr.Lasance. It has the Latin and English translation side by side and instructions for following the Mass which makes it easy. It also has many prayers, feast days, a calendar, and more. I think one costs about $50

I would go with the Father Lasance Missal, because it's pre-1962. That's just me.

This may be a dumb question for those who've done the Missal debate over and over, but are the pre/post-1962 differences noticable to someone following along with the Mass? If so, it would make sense to acquire one which matches the Mass you're attending especially when you're new to the Tridentine Rite.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to be attending the one near home.

Was it a high mass or a low mass?
