No Traditional Catholic man or woman would question the value and blessing of a woman in the home with children or even without. Let's be honest, however. There are women that may never meet that great man or if she does do so with God's blessing, who can know the future? What happens if the man is injured and can no longer work? What if he life is cut short? Many possibilities in the crazy world we live in.
How does a woman plan to support her family short or long term if something happens to her husband? Who provides the medical care for the kids, food expenses, housing, car, insurance, and the married of costs that are faced today?
Those who preach the woman does not need to be skill educated are living a century ago. It would be nice to live then, with extended family present to provide for needs, but that is not necessarily the case to day.
Perfect world to get an education? Of course not. It never as been for those who are morally fit. No more perfect than 20-30 years ago. Our parents raise us to be strong Catholics, and by the time college age rolls around, the kids better be strong in the faith to resist the wiles of the devil in or out of advanced education institutions.
Since I am busy dreaming, what is the woman to do with herself from the end of high school until she marries? Let just say she marries at age 26, or 25? What fills the period of years until then? How long does it really take to learn to provide the family in the home? Should not the woman fill those years with advanced education so that if Bobby loses his arm or even dies, she can help support the family until he can do so again? What is the family going to rely on? Welfare? Bring in meals? Hope? No, I believe God gives us a mind to learn.
What if she never marries? The modern male Trad Catholics seem bent on beauty as the ideal candidate for a wife. What if woman is not "pretty"? What does she do? Wait 10 years pineing for the ideal man? Hold herself back from developing herself in 100's of ways and skills ? What a waste. Again, Mom's and Dad's hopefully prepared their kids, the men AND women alike, to be strong in their faith for such a time as this.
