  •   I saw it on wikipedia. It is very shocking if true. It said that St. Thomas More accepted Anne as queen and even asked for God's grace for henry and her!!!
      Is that true?

  • I don't know whether this is true for sure, but I remember reading that St. Thomas More went back and forth a little in the beginning.  What's important is that he ended up on the right side.

  •   You mean he doubted the sinfulness of the king's bigamy?

  • The Church tells us to obey our rightful leaders, apparently even if they are Jєωιѕн like Ahmadinejad, or unless they ask us to do anything immoral.

Henry didn't ask Thomas More to marry Anne Boleyn.  What was he supposed to do about Henry's decision, throw a temper tantrum?  When Thomas More WAS asked to do something immoral, to deny his religion, he refused.

Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Didnt St.Thomas Moore stay silent on the matter, so as not to lose his head?
