  • Dogs actually help disinfect a wound when they lick it.

  • The women who write their articles over there are very rigid and shallow.  I've got an interesting exchange about Newman I can share with you later.  It was like I was arguing with a teenaged girl.  Very bizarre.

  • LOL!  I usually love TIA but you are right about dogs disinfecting.  My Victorian Grandmother even advised letting Mugsy lick our scraped knees!  She and my Grandfather were very formal people; no way she would have permitted 'one of God's creatures" any such thing if it was bad!

Our dogs are greeting the boys home from school as I type!

  • Ms. Horvats response left much to be desired. Caminus, you destroyed her initial response to your admonishment. She does not use logic in her thinking. Thank you for sharing this. It proves what I have always supposed about her and the site.

  • I used to like TIA until I realized they were kinda puritanical, which is bad because it cancels out anything culturally wholesome they try and promote (etiquette, manners, etc.) . But being Anglo-Saxon Americans Im not surprised... puritanism is part of their culture.

And I dont need any theological hulla-balloo to convince me that kissing a dog is unsanitary! I see the stuff my dog eats (dead rotting animals, animal manure, rats, etc.) and I DO NOT want him licking my hand, let alone lick my lips!!! Nobody would kiss their dog if they knew where his mouth has been!  :barf:

  • I am glad to hear this from others here at this forum!  I have had a similar difficulty with TIA...I have never wasted my time debating with Ms. Horvat because it is clear that she has no interest in hearing anything contrary to her opinion.

I have a friend who is friends with Ms. Horvat, however, and my arguments with her are equally fruitless.  She eats this stuff up.  Like Caminus, I point out the myriad logical and theological fallacies in the drivel they write, until she's backed into a corner, and she ends by forwarding our argument to someone who "knows more than she does and can better express what she's trying to say"--and I never hear another word about it again.

The stuff they publish over there amounts to little more than  spiteful diatribe.  What makes me sad is that they--and their readers--truly believe that only they are right--and therefore everyone else is a heretic.  :heretic:
Thus saith the Lord to you: Fear ye not, and be not dismayed at this multitude: for the battle is not yours, but God's...It shall not be you that shall fight, but only stand with confidence, and you shall see the help of the Lord over you: ...fear ye n

to some, esp at FE, TIA is like some lone knight in armor...ever listen to Horvat? She makes little sense and often throws out statements and emotes...makes no logical sense and I get from her she has little facts and not a whole lot of genuine charity or humor....

  • Having a dog and kissing a dog are two different things.

Lazarus (in the parable) was licked by dogs, but he had no one else.

Good common sense advice I think sedetrad, TIA is a bit eccentric sometimes, but I'm glad they're there.
