  • The sspx has an apostolate in honer of" St Maximillian Kolbe" . First thing that bothers me is that he is a saint under the Vat II church.

The second thing is that you must pray the prayer ,"Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee, And for all who do not have recourse to thee, especially for Masons, and all those who are commended to Thee." Is it right to alter the " Miraculous Medal Prayer ."

The third thing is that it states that "all religious orders and congregations, all movements in the church can also belong to the M.I.  This sounds very ecumenical with the Vat II church.  What are your thoughts on this apostolate, in the SSPX.

  • I would not worry too much about Fr. Kolbe. He was a holy man devoted to Our Lady. He did much to spread Catholicism and devotion to Our Lady in Japan and is responsible for publishing the first Catholic magazine in that country. He finally gave up his life to save another.

The other two things I do not like very much.

  • I can say this, I won't be praying for the masons.  How old is that prayer btw?  The masons have been a concern for a while now, one would think if the church thought it wise to pray for them, there would already be a traditional prayer floating around that we could use.  Is there?  And, if there isn't, does anyone else find it concerning that now we are deciding to pray for them.

Did our lord say pray for your enemies?  Wasn't it love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you.  These conspiratorial groups are not the ones who end up persecuting us.  They whip up the mass to persecute us.  It is the useful idiot who we ought to pray for.  But, the masons shouldn't be considered useful idiots.  They know they are up to no good.  They just do it for temporary material gain.

So, Bp. Fellay morphed a traditional Marian prayer?  Not surprising.

He added: "Pray for all who do not have recourse to thee"

Sounds like a legitimate question to me ?    :farmer:
If we back-up and consider the solemn statement by God the Father in the Book of Genesis:
I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.
    [Genesis 3:15]
Translating Bp. Fellay's creative adder prayer, the meaning would be:

"Pray for those who have enmity with you and your seed"

But God the Father put those enmities between Mary's seed and the devil's seed ?

So, what is Bp. Fellay really asking?

Instead of enmities with the devil and the bad seed (including a crushed head), let's talk it over and make peace?

Oh, I get it... Fraternity, Equality and Liberty ?

Let the masons live... they're nice guys and we can be friends, they just need some prayers.

No, we need to fight!   This is something for the past 20 years, Bp. Fellay had been afraid to do.

Time to step down, your Excellency.

The traditional Catholic remnant, wants a fighter... not a wimp.

    .
So you think we ought to be very selective for whom we pray, and be careful NOT to pray for Masons?
    .
What if the Masons need prayers but too many Catholics think we must not pray for them?
    .
In order to show your love for your enemies is it better to pray for them or to specifically NOT pray for them?
    .
I have known ex-Freemasons who went through several levels before they realized it was inimical to the Catholic Faith. They told me they knew other Catholics who were members.
    .
This prayer that St. Kolbe promoted was squelched just before Vat.II, and the M.I. has materials that explain there were Masons working their way upwards in the Church who managed to discourage the use of this prayer. So it's rather courageous for the SSPX to step up to the plate and promote this association. It does not promote the agenda of regularization that the Resistance accuses them of. So we should be supportive of it.

    .

I have never heard of this prayer before... have you ?

Bp. Fellay is very creative with Catholic tradition and dogma.

Last year I heard him tell a group of Pro-life faithful that aborted babies went to Heaven based on Baptism of Blood.

    Have you ever heard this?

I tell you, he makes it up, because it sounds nice.   This is what the modernist do.

Part of the difficulty in dealing with miscarriages is the uncertainty of knowing whether unborn children who die at a very early age in their development especially within the first three months of pregnancy will be saved for they did not have the opportunity to be baptized. In some cases, the mother does not even know that she is pregnant until after the death of her baby, so there is no opportunity to pray for or to baptize the baby.

Those babies who are murdered in the womb face even more uncertainty for their lives have ended brutally in so much pain. Even before eight weeks, an unborn child feels pain because the nervous system and brain begin to develop before the heart starts to pump blood.
    Lord have mercy.

Why wont you pray for their conversion?

It does not surprise me that he would teach such a thing since all the Novus Ordo priests teach the same things. The SSPX seminaries teach that Jews, Mohamedans, Hindus, and all other false religions can be saved without belief in Christ of the Holy Trinity.

Both of Fellay's / Novus Ordo/ SSPX teachings are contradicted by Catholic dogma.

I agree. I would not join it. I think it'll fizzle out.

  • I usually stay out of the SSPX topics, but I am wondering...  Who is it who does not have recourse to the Blessed Virgin?  Doesn't everyone on earth have a chance to repent and call upon her for mercy?

  • Father Kolbe was a very holy priest and his Marian writings are top notch. He is very much the logical pious extension of St. Louis de Montfort. I won’t comment on the SSPX as I am a sede.

Frankly, the whole thing just doesn’t sit right with me. I would like to know why the SSPX is pushing a "NO saint" so fervently? To be clear, Fr. Kolbe may have been a good man and may very well be in heaven, but he did not die a martyr for the Faith. Also, I'm fairly confident that one is NOT allowed to give ones life in exchange for another. One can certainly lose his life defending someone who is being attacked and thus commit a meritorious act, but, I'm pretty sure what Fr. Kolbe did is not approved  Catholic teaching.

If what I stated in this post is not correct, I welcome the correction.
