  • According to Father R, as mother you have authority over your children, and as a wife you have authority over your husband's body (due to the marriage vows) ... and presumably the addictions involved his body.
Addictions are a vice, so they would an immaterial attachment to a thing, a habit. I think it is dangerous to say binding prayers for this particular thing over your husband. Yes, there is some physical dependency there as an effect of the vice, but it's ultimately spiritual.

Yes, the vice can be more deeply rooted, but I would think that one could pray to have the activity that involves his body curtailed.  So, for instance, if the husband were addicted to impurity, that is in turn affecting the body to which the wife has rights.  I think you would need to curtail your prayers to anything afflicting his body.

  • It is not impurity, it is C2H6O.

Well, there's certainly a physical component involved in that.

But even with impurity, there's a physical component also, with the release of endorphins that are not unlike those experienced by opium addicts, or the hormones that affect libido, etc.

  • I never heard of prayers being called "deliverance prayers" but here's a PDF link to some free ones.

  • Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,
Let it be what God has planned, His new Eden where You reign.

  • I would also recommend the ORIGINAL, unabridged, prayer to St. Michael from Pope Leo XIII.

He reportedly composed it in response to a vision he had of Our Lord and Satan discussing the future of the Church, and the vision left him pale and apparently lifeless, to the point that he appeared to those around him to have expired.

    And it included this --
    Quote
Where the See of the Blessed Peter and the Chair of Truth have been set up for the light of the gentiles, there they have placed the throne of the abomination of their wickedness, so that, the Pastor having been struck, they may also be able to scatter the flock.

He foresaw a strike against the Papacy and the replacement of St. Peter's throne with their own.

[This is not necessarily pointing to sedevacantism, just a taking over of the Papacy by the forces of evil.]
