  • Merry Whitsuntide!

May the Lord Holy Ghost, through the patronage and tutelage of Blessed Mary every-Virgin, together with the intercession of the Holy Apostles, vouchsafe each of us an increase of every heavenly grace and blessing, particularly the three theological virtues and His seven gifts, and may Holy Mother Church be given holy Priests for the coming generations.

  • Happy Pentecost to everyone!
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Here is a beautiful Sequence composed by the great liturgical poet, Adam of St. Victor, for Pentecost Sunday (The Liturgical Poetry of Adam of St. Victor, vol. i., trans. Digby S. Wrangham; London: Kegan Paul, Trench, & Co., 1881):

  • May everyone have a most Blessed Pentecost, in every way!

We've made it through one more year - by the mercy of God.

May those who have still not completed their annual duty have the
grace and cooperation with that grace to make a good confession
and receive Holy Communion sometime today or this week.

And may we all find an increase in true Faith, Hope and Charity,
as we appreciate and make use of the 7 Gifts of the Holy Ghost.

P.S. Remember to wear White and Red to Mass today!

  • I'm surprised there are so few responses to this important thread. Here a whole week is nearly gone, PENTECOST WEEK, during which the vestments remain RED for 7 days (the only such 7 days in the Church calendar!) and during which the Mass commemorates one of the 3 major Feast Days of the year, and only a handful of posts show up?
