For you men out there. When it comes to females, you just have to learn to press the right buttons.

Not true, not true. My husband is the shopaholic. I walk in, grab what I want, hand it to my husband to pay for, and I walk out. He can also spend many hours drooling over catalogs. And shop while he's driving down the street.

Another old husband's tale is that women are the ones who blabber on and on. :roll-laugh2: Need I say more?

And another one is that women take forever and a day to get ready to go out. Five minutes flat, I'm ready to go. If it takes longer than that, I figure it's not worth the effort. Fortunately, my husband has this virtue also.

But I do agree about the buttons, although I might give men one more. Unless you want to lump them all together under "appetite".

Funny, lump them ALL together under appetite. Yes, it is true here as well. Andy goes to the hardware store and maybe there is a hypnotizing aroma that traps him but his is lost. Same for a bookstore, I know what I want and am in and out. I hate being surrounded by all those crazy Liberal, Oprah type books titles in the stores. Andy, goodnight stays for hours.
I hate the telephone he can talk to one person for two hours.
Course, I am a driven insane control person and he is a "Thinker" so that may explain the difference

Nah. If anything a thinker is less of a talker. Face it---men gossip, too. My husband thinks there is a law against silence. Never have him around if business needs to be conducted. He'll start story swapping and won't quit until everyone forgets what they are doing or someone gets rude and conducts the business in spite of him. Not that I don't enjoy a good yarn swap, but there is a time and a place.

This definately applies to me, accept I do way more drooling than buying. I LOVE shopping for pretty things, and buying shoes...

If I won money I would head to the mall!

I am a girly girl with the special certificate and everything.

Of course, I have to have a good eye for shopping...my husband is the "I've only had this hideous T-shirt shirt for eight years" guy.

I suppose swapping husbands is out. My husband is a clothes horse and I get sooooo upset at his growing piles of clothes. It took me forever to get him to understand that we couldn't afford to buy him new clothes because he wore his new clothes to work and ruined them.

Oh man that would get me mad!! I buy my hubby nice clothes and his only offense is leaving his nice dress pants crumpled on the top of the dresser. It is bad because then I have to get them dry cleaned more often..ugh.
If he messed them up I would get mad.

You know, I always think that it's funny when guys are the shopaholics instead of the women. I figure when we have babies I will buy a lot of really great stuff in the beginning and then hang out at the cool second hand stores to buy all the little cute things. I will probably shop a lot more for babies than I do for me. Right now I do not buy that much...I think my husband would have a little heart attack if I actually went "shopping." *evil grin*

Well, that's true. I hate shopping in general, but I always loved to buy my daughters frilly dresses and bonnets---at least I loved dressing them in them. And now I spend on my grand babies like a typical besotted granny.

When my daughter was expecting her second baby, we decided it was a girl and bought every cute or pretty girl bit of apparel at every yard sale and second hand store we came across. When I was told it was a boy, I said, "I hope he likes wearing dresses." Fortunately for him, he got plenty of hand me downs from his brother.

Baby shopping is the best since it doesn't cost much. I have a whole closet of dresses for the little girl that isn't even here yet and I didn't pay more than $3 for anything--even the $3 variety is rare as most garage sales only want $1-$2 for baby clothes that look brand new. Heck, some are brand new with tags and everything. Dominic is almost 15 months and I think the only clothing I've bought him at the store was a bag of socks.

I'd shop more for my husband as he's pretty easy to buy for too, but 6 days out of 7 he wears shorts & t-shirt. Needless to say, his nice clothes don't wear out very fast.
