  • Haha. This explains it perfectly! But what can ya do.
Religion clean and undefiled before God and the Father, is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation: and to keep one's self unspotted from this world.

  • And that is why God created male and female, to complement each other

Being a confirmed bachelor in my receding youth, I would have a hard time dealing with all those knobs and switches..... :geezer:

    Yes, be thankful Kazimierz.

That you were given a special grace... not to hit the unit's "Power-on" button in the first place.

Some of us boldly hit the button,,, and now... after the unit went "hay-wire"... can't escape it!  (just joking)

  • It's funny, for sure.

But I know that men are definitely a whole lot more complicated emotionally than that.  It's just that they are less prone to categorizing it like women frequently do.

I myself have more of a "male brain" and don't understand many women very well either.  I consider myself to be a feminine woman but I just do not think that way at all!  I'm very analytical and don't like to discuss my emotions or display them, and don't especially like to deal with other people's problems.  I'm very comfortable socially with men and not nearly so much with women.

We can't all be fit neatly into categories.

  • While the drawing in the OP obviously is an exaggeration, there is a basic point there to be made.

I wonder how much of the differences between the emotional life of men and women has to do with Original Sin, and/or cultural conditioning?

Look at the Perfect Man, Jesus Christ, and the Perfect Woman, Our Lady. Now go back to the drawing on the OP. I would depict Our Lord as being more complex than what is there, and Our Lady as being less so.

(P.S. Disagree with me, and I'll scratch your eyes out.)
Mother of God, pray for us sinners.

  • I wish more men would NOT display their emotions.  It's draining.

  • Stella, this is just more of the "Homer Simpson" style stereotyping of men in relation to women.

Obviously the great composers, who have been men, had great emotional depth and variations that they communicate in their music.

Men are more "simple" in the sense that they are not bound up in a tangled web of conflicting emotions most of the time.

  • I think culture plays a big part in this also.  In modern times women are encouraged and expected to talk endlessly about themselves and their feelings.  I don't believe it's always been that way here or in other parts of the world.  I blame psychoanalysis and the indulgent / luxurious culture we've been living in for over a century.

I was raised to babble on and on about my feelings, to minutely inspect my emotions moment by moment.  I remember being taught that communication was the key to a good relationship / marriage.  It doesn't work that way.  My H shuts down when I want to talk about our relationship.

So I just ordered "How to Improve Your Marriage Without Talking About it."   :laugh1:

I don't imagine Our Lady to be a chatterbox analyzing her feelings and yammering on and on to St. Joseph about everything that happened that day.  No lady saints I can recall would have been described that way either.

    God Bless.

    Yes, quite true.

How do we indeed label these women-men of both sexes?

    Where's the chart for them?
