  • Of what?  Bishop Williamson's quote?  Joe McCarthy?

By the way, Vlad, love that second quote.

were his methods correct? Were his suspicions justified?

I am looking for older members who have better insight into this matter. We are discuss it in school and the teacher compare it to the Salem Witch Trials (which we also studied).

Yeah, she would compare them to the Salem Witch Trials....

Maybe Myrna and Emerentiana will remember more.  I was a little girl in the early fifties and not concerned about communists and Joe McCarthy at the time.

Ann Coulter wrote about all of that in one of her books.  I am sorry I do not remember which one.

Thats a ridiculous comparison your teacher is making.  First off, only government workers were targeted.  Your free speech ends at the front door of your job. No one he ever investigated was jailed. The federal government had every right to not want subversives to be under their employ.

Secondly, declassified KGB docuмents shows he was right about many people.   But poor Joe is a near permanent liberal boogeyman.  It's going to be tough to rehabilitate him because of leftists control of the media and schools.   What the leftists dont tell you is the much of the apparatus of the government opposed his crusade, which was a populist act supported by regular Americans.

  • There is a video called Point Of Order-- maybe it is on the net. Although the producers of the vid did not realise it, this is the story of how Joe  was stopped by Welch and the traitor R Cohn( ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ pal of Spellman,  Hoover and Welch)

The stories about the Sen being a homsɛҳuąƖ are a product of his naive relationship with these frauds.

Sen Mc Carthy was a bit of a hot-dog and he didn't and he didn't have everything right, but he was sincere.

There are two books you can read.  One is old from the time, the other is more recent.

Buckley and Bozell wrote a book (before Buckley became a sellout).  I used to own it but I lent it out and don't know where it is now.

And recently a book has been published "Blacklisted by History" - which I own.

    They are rather detailed.

I recommend you read up on the Silvermaster Spy Ring and Elizabeth Bentley, etc.

  • Not true, Robert.  A number of actors were called before the Senate, too, which is why Hollyweird got into the anti-McCarthy act---even made a movie about it.  McCarthy was smeared.

  • Joe Welch is not Robert( JBS Welch) although they are both Freemansons. Watch the vid if U can find it online.

The two best books on the Sen are his bio by Thomas Reeves( a massive book) and  The Assassination of Joe Mc Carthy by Medford Evans. He did not committ ѕυιcιdє and was not an alcoholic. I do not know if he  :smoke-pot:

  • I do not know who Joe Welch is - the only Welch I know is the JBS Welch.  Now that would make a good topic too, discussing the JBS and their influence on traditional chapels in this country...

Youre confusing HUAC with the Army McCarthy hearings.  Joe was a Senator, not involved with HUAC.
