  • Mathew,

I enjoyed your post from Makow on Joseph on Communism. I noticed that you also posted in on angelqueen and it seemed the only responses you recieved were hate filled. I hope angelqueen and its members are not indicative of the rank and file of the SSPX. If angelqueen type posters are the majority of that organization, then I can see why it would turn many off to tradition.

  • Angelqueen is Angelqueen, not SSPX.

It's a specific forum, attracting a specific type of person.

For one thing, it's a "preach to the choir club" where everyone is pretty much the same. There is little toleration for other points of view, and the moderator is VERY arbitrary on who he bans or censors.

The moderator and I get along personally, and we agree on posts being "set in stone" and not deleting old posts, etc. -- but we disagree on the issue of censorship.

And you bring up another point -- Catholics (nowadays called "Traditionalists") have often driven people away by their example. It's a sad fact of fallen human nature -- it's bad old Original Sin, really. Catholics aren't different from regular human beings -- it's just that they are REPENTANT sinners. They still make mistakes, still commit sin, still have strong passions, still can be misled, etc.

Read your history and you will see TONS of instances where things could have been much better if only Catholics had given a better example to those around them.

Kind of helps you understand why God will judge each of us on the example we gave. "He who gathers not, scatters."

  • I need to add something --

It was mostly ONE guy on AQ that brought on the above criticism. As of right now, there hasn't been a wide level of participation in the topic in question.

It's hard (read: impossible) to judge a group by the actions of one individual.
