Mass movement needed

  • A mass movement needs to get started.

One with a catchy, easy to understand slogan or meme, one that resonates with a critical number of people so it can take off and spread.

And here is what the movement will be about:

Right now, we're in the early/Wild West stages of Social Media. Memes and hashtag activism arise with no warning. Basically we're talking about mob rule here. But right now, the mob basically rules supreme. If you do anything controversial, and it hits Social Media, the Mob will become your judge/jury/executioner. Or a politically correct leftist calls a radio station and has a problem with a song, and so the radio station pulls the song permanently "just to be safe". Injustices like this are happening on a daily basis. And the Left has no intention of easing off the gas any time soon.

I think eventually, after a movement like this, that such kowtowing to a vocal minority, or even just a few malcontents, will cease. How can we help accelerate the advent of that day?

In other words, when will authorities (governments, radio stations, websites, companies, you name it) start realizing that it's only < 1% that is truly offended, and the other 99% will be offended if they kowtow to them!

Do we need a highly public and easy to use Poll website so people can start polls about everything and send in links to the authorities in question? Perhaps this poll website can take care of certain abuses automatically (block all proxy IP addresses, prevent repeat voting), maybe it can support registration or locking to a given phone number or house address. But it would have to be popular and easy to use: the eBay of poll websites.

Is it going to require boycotts and activism by all? Problem is, it's hard to get fired up about the status quo. The vocal minority is motivated and excited to usher in their Brave New World of controlled speech: a world where offensive or annoying speech is considered equivalent to actual violence.

Maybe a site like RipOffReport that catalogues the various times each person/city/government/business/school kowtows to something stupid, so people can look them up and send complaints -- maybe by means of a simple button they can click. If they get 100 complaints about what they did to appease that 1 complainer, maybe that will begin waking them up to the reality that SJW snowflakes/activists are a microscopic minority of the population.

  • There are poll websites around.

Problem with these types of polls is that typically only those with strong opinions are likely to vote, and the results are skewed.

So for instance, the people who feign to be offended by some song will vote in larger numbers than those who don't care about it ... because they don't care.
