  • I know that King Vittorio Emanuele II was excommunicated twice, and I am not sure if he reconciled with the Church before his death. However, it would not hurt to pray for anyone in the Savoy family if any of them are now in Purgatory.

  • When I was studying Theology years ago, I remember being impressed when our Professor told us that Blessed Margaret of Savoy & all other members of the House of Savoy awaiting canonization or beatification would not move forward because of the House of Savoy`s involvement in the war against the Papal States & the take-over at the time of Pius IX....How things have changed!
