You have to look to the traditional chapels and priests to find poverty these days, for the most part.
It's the Novus Ordo establishment where all the problems reside. Not that anything is perfect this side of heaven, but the Church is only "as it always was" when you look at traditional groups.
The priest at my chapel certainly lives in the spirit of poverty. He gives away all extra money to the poor, etc. His rectory (where he lives) has little or nothing in it. In fact, it was broken into about a year ago, and the thieves were quite disappointed. No TV, no computer, no valuables, no entertainment center, nothing! Just some older/used furniture.
Did they think that traditional priests lived like Novus Ordo priests? Think again!
