Martyr of the Blessed Sacrament?

  • Hello everyone, hope someone may be able to help. Recently, I heard the story of a Catholic layman who supposedly was martyred by Protestants while attempting to protect the Most Blessed Sacrament during a Eucharistic Procession. Apparently, this happened in the 1700s or 1800s, possibly in Boston, MA, and the layman may have been of French descent. I have attempted to locate more information on this event and the identity of the layman, but have been unsuccessful. Any information/clarification regarding this or the identity of the layman would be most appreciated. God bless you!

  • Many thanks and may God bless you, Anthony Benedict!  Anyone else have any information on this or the identity of the layman? I have heard he had the title, "Knight of Saint Sauveur," but have been unable to discover his name, any further info, etc. What a fine example of true devotion and zeal this courageous layman provided. Hopefully, someone will be able to provide further details. Any help is most appreciated!

Not a martyr of the Blessed Eucharist, sorry about that...
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
    Praised be Jesus ad Mary!
