  • Last week an Indian (Hindu I believe) woman died in a Galway (Ireland) hospital as a result of a miscarried child. It seems the doctor(s) allowed the miscarriage go on for three days resulting in the death of the mother. The husband went public in blaiming Ireland's anti-abortion law for the death of his wife. He said his wife pleaded with the doctor to abort the child but (he said) they did not because of the anti-abortion law in Ireland. He said the doctor told them 'This is a Catholic country, no abortion.'

I googled in Hindus and abortion and found their teaching is similar to that of Catholics. Classical Hindu texts are strongly opposed to abortion:
•one text compares abortion to the killing of a priest
•another text considers abortion a worse sin than killing one's parents
•another text says that a woman who aborts her child will lose her caste

The Irish constitution gives the life of the mother and the life of the child equal rights. In the event of a danger to the life of a mother, any doctor in Ireland is allowed save the mother even if it results in the death of her child. This was standard practice anyway, but was 'constitutionalised' as a result of 'the x case.' That was 20 years ago, but no government since actually drew up specific laws to clarify this right. In the meanwhile standard practice continued and the life of the mother was always paramount.

The story told by this Indian father suggested that his wife was refused such rights because of Irish law and that she subsequently died from blood poisoning.

What actually happened has not become public. It certainly was NOT a CATHOLIC LAW that prevented the child from being taken from the woman as she was already in a state of miscarriage. It was probably a doctor misjudgement.  Nevertheless, to the pro-abortion lobby, this case was manna from Hell. From Ireland to India, that 'Catholic' abortion law is being attacked. The Irish media is at saturation point with one Indian newspaper saying an Indian woman was 'MURDERED' in Ireland. Within hours the pro-abortion lobby managed to get hundreds together in protest. Such had to be planned even before the matter became public. Similar protests by pro-abortion people can be seen around the world.

All this a week after the Irish Govermnent and the Irish Bishops conned the Irish into passing a United-Nations 'childrens' rights' accord. A week in which they were all calling for children to be protected from everything by giving the State more power to 'protect' children from their parents. This week the country is calling for abortion under every excuse one can find.

    Ireland, the Island of hypocrites.

Today Ireland is under the dominion of the Devil. The Catholic bishops have done so much harm to the Church's reputation by their moving child abusing priests from parish to parish that the main barrier to abortion is now redundant. Only a handful of Catholics today understand the Catholic position on conception and baptism. Pope John Paul II's inference of universal salvation for unbaptised babies has placed Limbo into the myth category. Indeed I once attended a huge pro-life convention at which I stated that the Catholic teaching that unbaptised aborted children cannot see the Beatific Vision. I say any Catholic aware of this might change their mind about aborting their child. I said that if this were not true then for Catholics abortion should be celebrated, for all those children would never be tested in faith and would fill heaven like angels.
In response, the chairman asked one of many priests present to speak to me privately after the meeting. No priest came within a mile of me that night.
    Lucky for him.
