  • Even with the most noblest intentions, no one ever changed anything by killing themselves, no matter what the cause or where they did it.

An old conservative's desperate attempt to awaken the masses of the reality of two things that is blatantly obvious going on across the pond.

Christianity is dying in Europe, Europe is dying.

We all know what the driving force behind this is, the answer is to stand strong, resist this evil and crush the oppostion, not kill yourself in what you consider a holy place as a statement.

Man kills himself inside Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris

A man has killed himself inside the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris in the French capital, causing its evacuation.

The man pulled out a shotgun and shot himself through the mouth beside the main altar shortly after 16:00 (14:00 GMT) - in front of some 1,500 people.

He was later named by police as 78-year-old Dominique Venner, an award-winning far-right historian.

Mr Venner had recently been involved in the campaign against the government's decision to legalise gαy marriage.

On Saturday, President Francois Hollande signed the bill into law.

    'Political gesture'

The police said Mr Venner had made no statement before killing himself, although a note was found next to his body. They did not disclose its contents.

Dominique Venner's latest blog entry condemned the government's decision to legalise gαy marriage Earlier on Tuesday, he had written on his blog a critique of the same-sex marriage bill.

"New spectacular and symbolic actions are needed to wake up the sleepwalkers and shake the anaesthetised consciousness," he wrote.

"We are entering a time when acts must follow words."

Mr Venner is also a former member of the Secret Army Organisation (OAS), which opposed Algerian independence in the early 1960s and tried to αssαssιnαtҽ Charles De Gaulle.

Marine Le Pen, the far-right National Front leader, paid tribute to Mr Venner, describing his ѕυιcιdє as a political gesture aimed at "waking up the people of France".

The BBC's Christian Fraser in Paris says Notre-Dame is the most visited landmark in France, attracting more than 13 million visitors each year, but security is relatively relaxed.

It would not be difficult to conceal a weapon in a shoulder bag, he says.

    Obituary: Dominique Venner
The cathedral is celebrating its 850th year, and at the time of Mr Venner's death.

Police said the evacuation began immediately, that there were no further problems, and that the cathedral for the moment remained closed.

"It's unfortunate, it's dramatic, it's shocking," the rector of Notre-Dame, Monsignor Patrick Jacquin, told the Associated Press news agency.

This was the first ѕυιcιdє in decades at the cathedral, he said. A few people had jumped to their deaths from Notre-Dame's twin towers, but no-one was thought to have killed themselves at the altar before, he added.

"We will pray for this man, as for so many others at their end."

Last Thursday, a 50-year-old man with a history of mental problems killed himself with a sawn-off shotgun in front of a dozen children at a private Catholic school next to the Eiffel Tower.

How can "noble intentions" end like this?
How could an "old conservative" expect to accomplish anything by this?
All it achieves is announcing that "Christianity is dying in Europe," but
is that message worth this ultimate price of dying in the act of murder?

Killing yourself in a holy place contributes to the death of Christianity.

The article doesn't say if this "78-year-old Dominique Venner, an award-

he was an atheist;  if so, then that's the problem.

  • Dominique Venner ѕυιcιdє: French Far Right Reacts To Essayist's Death Inside Notre Dame Cathedral

Dominique Venner committed ѕυιcιdє on Tuesday in front of the altar of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. The death of the 78-year-old essayist and historian sparked numerous reactions from French nationalists.

Several executives and members of the country's far-right National Front party took to Twitter to praise Venner. Directly referencing Venner's last blog post, National Front party leader Marine Le Pen called the writer's act an "eminently political" gesture destined to "awaken the people of France."

"All our respect to Dominique Venner whose last gesture, an eminently political one, attempted to awaken the people of France. MLP"

In a blog post published on the same day as his ѕυιcιdє, Venner talked about "new gestures, spectacular and symbolic ones, to rattle lethargies, to shake anaesthetised consciences and awaken the memory of our origins."

Louis Aliot, vice-president of the National Front and Marine Le Pen's partner, also paid his respects, calling Venner an "intransigent and courageous defender of our civilisation's values."

"My emotional thoughts go out to the tragic disappearance of D.Venner, intransigent and courageous defender of our civilisation's values."

Bruno Gollnisch, another figure of the National Front, saw Venner's ѕυιcιdє as a "protest against the decadence of our society." Gollnisch argued that Venner "experienced" the approval of the law on gαy marriage "as it should have been experienced, as a promotion of decadence and a defacement of marriage."
Gollnisch added that "it wasn't his only fight, he also protested against the programmed disappearance of the French people, the progressive substitution with other populations."

Julien Rochedy, the president of the National Front youth group tweeted:

"It's with immense sadness that I hear about Dominique Venner's ѕυιcιdє. He will be reunited with the heroes from the Iliad he loved so much."

According to some members of the National Front, Venner was considered as a potential candidate to head the party when it was founded in 1972.

Honorary president Jean-Marie Le Pen commented on the ѕυιcιdє to the AFP by comparing it to the death of Pierre Drieu La Rochelle, a writer who collaborated with the nαzιs during WWII and who committed ѕυιcιdє in 1945. "An intellectual ѕυιcιdє, which testifies with death," declared the founder of the National Front.

On Tuesday night, thousands of far-right militants gathered in front of Notre Dame Cathedral, carrying torches and national flags. According to Le HuffPost, an unidentified speaker said: "We ignored the deep causes of his gesture. We are here to pay tribute to his last fight (...) He always defended France, beautiful, strong and proud of itself."

"The 78-year-old Venner, a prolific essayist for much of his life, was also a strict Catholic who frequently inveighed against gαys and Islamists, who he believed were coming to wipe out French culture. In a blog post dated today—translated with the help of senilezombiegrouchomarx—Venner argued that more drastic measures were necessary to combat same-sex marriage since peaceful protests didn't work."

  • Venner's final blog post;

"the 26th of May will have reason to vent their impatience and anger. An odious law, once passed, can always be repealed.

I have just finished listening to an Algerian blogger: “In any case”, he said, “in fifteen years Islamists will be in power and will strike down the law”. Not to satisfy us, lest we doubt, but because it is against Sharia.

It is the single common point, albeit superficial, between the European culture (which respects women) and Islam (which does not). The preemptive statement by this Algerian blogger sends chills down the spine. The consequences of such a development would be as great and catastrophic as those of the Taubira Law.

We must recognize the real possibility of France falling under Islamic rule. Over the past 40 years, politicians and successive governments from all parties (excepting the Front Nationale), as well as big business and the Church, have actively worked towards, and accelerated, Afro-Maghreb immigration by all means.

For a long time, great writers have sounded the alarm, starting with Jean Raspail in his prophetic Camp of Saints (Robert Laffont). The new edition has set printing records.

The protestors on the 26th of May cannot ignore this reality. Their fight cannot confine itself to the issue of gαy marriage. The “Great Replacement” of the French and European populations, decried by writer Renaud Camus, is a peril just as significant for the future.

Organizing peaceful demonstrations will not suffice to stem the tide. We must first, as Renan would say, engineer a veritable “intellectual and moral” reform movement. Such a movement must allow us first to re-appropriate out forgotten French and European identity. The need for such a movement is still not widely acknowledged.

New actions, both spectacular and symbolic, are needed to shake us from our sleep-like stupor and reawaken our sense of tradition. We are entering into a time when talk must be supported by actions.

We must also remember what Heidegger formulated brilliantly in Being and Time: that the essence of man is not to be found in some “other world”, but in his very existence. It is here and now, in these last moments, that our destiny in is play. These final moments are as important as the rest of one’s life. That is why one must uphold their ideals to the very last second. Only in deciding for one’s self and seizing destiny can one vanquish nothingness. There is no way to escape this fact. In this life, we have two options: to uphold our ideals or to be nothing.

  • Topless Femen Activist Touts Fake Gun In Notre Dame Cathedral Protest After Dominique Venner's ѕυιcιdє

A Femen activist has been arrested after carrying out a topless protest in Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral.

With the words “May facists rest in hell”, the woman – referred to on the Femen Facebook page as “the angel of death” was photographed pointing a fake gun into her mouth.

The protest comes a day after far-right activist Dominique Venner committed ѕυιcιdє in the famous cathedral.

Venner, who campaigned against gαy marriage and Islam, shot himself in the mouth on Tuesday and died 20 minutes later, French reports said.

On Wednesday, the Femen Facebook page called on “European nαzιs” to “follow the example of the ultra-right Wenner and immediately commit ѕυιcιdє, thereby permanently excluding themselves from the political arena in Europe.”

It added: “Hurry, on the sacrificial altar of Notre Dame, there is not so much space!”

Femen leader Inna Shevchenko told The HuffPost: "This is a message to all those who support fascism and those who honoured the memory of far-right activist who committed ѕυιcιdє at Notre Dame, including Marine Le Pen."

In February Femen protesters were at the same cathedral celebrating the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.

Chanting "Bye bye Benedict" and "No more homophobe" the group banged bells with sticks and sported slogans on their naked chests which read "Crisis of faith" and "Pope no more".

  • The sɛҳuąƖ deviants are celebrating en masse across France with Venner's ѕυιcιdє, these are the most vile and vindictive people on the planet, they represent everything that is evil and morally twisted in our culture today.

They must be opposed openly and with strong conviction, not killing yourself in order to awaken the sheeple or make a statement.

The queers are on the march in France like everywhere else, this is every bit a spiritual war as it is a culture war and old far-rightists like Venner shouldn't lose hope but fight them until the very end.

Venner should've been a man and took the fight to the deviants, not ѕυιcιdє, now the sex-freaks can't mock him enough.

Not to mention, he's desecrated the house of God.  Now with this woman's act, there is more desecration.  The cathedral needs to be blessed.

This and other acts of despair within the traditional Catholic community should be warning to us.

We should be more alert to bolster and support each other as we go though this "hour of darkness".

"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi
