I would agree with that to a certain extent, but I have also seen female bosses who were not this way at all.

It's not every female boss; it's just a trend. Let's put it this way: you see it many times more often than you see it among men. Maybe this is a more accurate statement:

A disproportionate number of "bosses from hell" are female. That is to say, a larger % than you would expect, given the total number of male and female bosses.

Anyhow, the exception(s) proves the rule; it doesn't disprove it.

I'm not sure I can speak to a "rule".  Is it possible this is true for most people's experiences?  Sure.  It just doesn't fit my experience though.  I have never had a female boss "from hell".

I worked for the National Park Service for five straight summers and had a string of female supervisors.

Actually, they were nice as hell. Does that count?   :confused1:

I've had a total of ten bosses in 36 years of employment, half male, half female.  Of the five males, two were good, three bad.  Of the females, three good, two bad.  Two of the bad male bosses failed in maintaining personal moral standards for his profession.  It should be noted that both were fired when sɛҳuąƖ sin with an outside consenting adult became publicly known.  One failed for lack of professional competence.  Of the two bad female bosses, both were "bosses from hell" as well as incompetent!  One spread vicious gossip about employees she didn't like and either got them fired or caused them to quit.  The other not only mistreated her inferiors by means of an evil tongue, but also stole large sums of money and engaged in forgery.
Women are naturally more pious and virtuous than men, so it makes sense that when women turn to evil, they become worse than men.

One important subset of female-bosses-from-hell are those afflicted by the Queen Bee Syndrome:  http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB10001424127887323884304578328271526080496

Even PC types accept this diagnosis.

My sister was the victim of one of these.  She reported my sister for shirking -- while my sister was home with acute pneumonia.

 :dancing-banana:
Why the down thumb?  I've stated my factual life experience.  The immoral male bosses did not abuse their employees.  They were fired when they grew lax and outed themselves.  The female bosses abused their underlings, myself included.  The most egregious of these started a rumor that I had a prison record.  You don't like the facts, or you don't believe me?
:scratchchin:Matthew, ever consider removing the down thumb option?  Just my .02¢!
