  • Toddler tries to operate a magazine like an iPad, and fails (of course).

    How pathetic!

This is why my kids won't touch a computer till they're well versed in reading, writing, running, balancing, etc.

I got my first PC when I was 15, and I'm doing very well as a computer programmer today. There are other skills necessary for a career -- even for an IT career -- that are best learned without a computer.

Problem solving, creative thinking, analysis, logic, spelling, composition (organizing one's thoughts), etc.

  • Very true.

Its not all about "digital displays and keyboards" in the IT field. You have to be very sharp in report writing, log analysis, critical thinking, etc.

If the world moves to an entire "Kinect" type of system computer and abandons anything paper or pencils, woe to the future generations.
