Has anyone else noticed how "Everyone" is being given Albuterol by the doctors this season. I talk to so many people who have coughs from a cold and they are handed this very dangerous drug when Triaminic or Robitussin would do the trick.
The doctor has given this to my 2 year old nephew twice this year. It causes lack of focus and irritablity in children.
Just seems strange to me.

If it has a long shelf life, I'd hang on to it. In the case of a horrible flu, or other emergency, it could be a life-saver. I wonder why they are pushing it. It does have strange side effects.

I haven't noticed any side effects when i take it. It can be a lifesaver to those that have a bad flu, pneumonia, or asthma. I take the inhaler kind and not the liquid. Is their a difference? I have never read that albuterol was dangerous.

Sede you are right. For asthma, for bronchitis etc. But for babies with colds? And, this is not just one child I know of but many people.
I thought it was strange as it makes children act out in angry fashion, causes them mental confusion and so on. Maybe that is just a bonus, and the real reason in lots of $$$$$ for handing it out like gumballs.

That is strange. It may be a money reason, but it could be more sinister.
