  •    Did you notice that many stores have millennials walking around doing nothing and getting paid $15.00 an hour.
It seems many stores are over staffed and mismanaged.  Shelves aren’t stocked.  They are zombie like rude if they have to wait on customer.  As if customer is interrupting their private snowflake conversations.  Who hire these people?

I had to return a shirt which had tags on it and receipt. And the twit with nose ring told me she couldn’t refund my money unless I provide my name telephone number and email.  All she had to do is refund my money because I had paid cash; not credit.   Then I told her that it was my body and my choice not to provide my personal information to her.
May God bless you and keep you

  • In general, the millennials motto is, “whatever, whoever, whenever, wherever, yeah, right. It’s all good.”  Fortunately, it doesn’t apply to everyone.  I don’t so much blame the millennials as their parents, the “me generation” for accepting low standards.  Seriously, a nose ring?  While working as public representative of the store where you bought the blouse?  I wouldn’t be surprised if she also had tattoos and a pierced bellybutton.  Some people have class, no dignity, no self-respect, therefore, they have no respect for others.
A few years ago I worked in a research laboratory library even though I was one of the least academically qualified candidates.  I was hired because I dressed and acted like a professional.
I would have taken the clerk’s picture and sent it, along with a politely worded complaint, to the store manager.  Of course, if the store was Walmart, I wouldn’t bother!  They get the level of worker they pay for!

  • I was thinking about that too. Who hires these unprofessional people?  If you look at the CEOs of companies - they are over paid sodomites.

Yeah.  The “ me generation” are my peers and family.   I saw one woman from my hometown who is single mom and a witch who used to be novus ordo Catholic  who went to Catholic school.  She Raised  her daughter and talked to her as  a buddy instead of Mom.  Both had Piercings tattoos and colored hair.  Very creepy satanic activist too. It was a blessing that these nitwits didnt have a reunion. ( if they did I wasnt invite).  And neighbors from my hometown are friends with her on face book.

What is worse is our local grocery store where many lazy millennials work.  It is union but not very clean. Dirty bathrooms.  Some of the workers are rude and lack proper hygiene.   And many are zombie sodomites with zero personality at the register.  They wont even talk to you but grunt while having personal conversation with cashier who is bagging when they should be on register.     The ladies bathroom smells like dirty male urine.
May God bless you and keep you

    .
So.... did you get your refund?
    .
Assuming not, the most millennial part of the story, in my opinion, is the part where you abandoned your goal to get an awkwardly forced dig in at the cashier.
    .
It's obviously frustrating, but transaction processes have personal information walls set up around them.  That's because your information is being used and sold by corporate interests, not by nose-ringed cashiers.  Her miserable life is just as much a victim of that as yours is, and probably more so.  Catholics are at least generally aware and cognizant of the control exerted on them by social overlords.  Others have no idea how enslaved they are, which just accelerates the misery.
"Be kind; do not seek the malicious satisfaction of having discovered an additional enemy to the Church... And, above all, be scrupulously truthful. To all, friends and foes alike, give that serious attention which does not misrepresent any opinion, does not distort any statement, does not mutilate any quotation. We need not fear to serve the cause of Christ less efficiently by putting on His spirit". (Vermeersch, 1913).

First of all, I'd like to know where all of these overstaffed places of employment are.  Everywhere I go (including my place of employment before I retired), understaffing seems to be the rule.  It's all in the name of generating as much profit as possible, never mind how it affects the employees and the customers.  "Multitasking" is all too often a pretext to eliminate jobs --- hire one person to do two jobs.   They shave it to the bare bone, and then some.
Secondly, requiring your personal information is probably part of their "policies and procedures", and wasn't the salesclerk's idea.  If she failed to do things "by the book", she could be fired.  Some business are not customer-friendly.  And in their defense, if they made exceptions for everybody, you would hear every excuse under the sun.  I have been through this (in retail management), and I know what I'm talking about.  I've heard every story you could ever make up.  As I always told my employees, there is simply no way to call a customer a liar, a thief, or an idiot.

Exactly.... retail (fast food joints) is a hellish place to work, and the cashiers of both have it so rough because they get the most interaction with customers.

  • Viva, they need your information because my guess is, some people exploit return policies to sell shoplifted things.

  • Sorry. They don’t need my email or my telephone number.  There are still people without email too.  They take your email and phone number to sell it to other parties.  Then you get these phone calls and emails.   This is why they offer you a discount if you provide email to sell your info.

I have worked in retail too.  Things have changed for the worse.

I bought and returned the product within less than 24 hours.  The product had tags.  I had a receipt. So simple.  Most merchandise that are returned with out a receipt are usually where the items were shop lifted.  I had a receipt.

The girl was rude. No excuse  Yes, That particular store was over staffed.  Mostly part timers too.   Might be all part timers.

  • This wasn’t corporate store or fast food joint. This was a small shop at local mall in liberal NJ.

Stop making excuses.  She is there to be professional and polite.  She was quite over the top happy like a cartoon character when she waited on sodomites but walked away as if she didn’t want to wait on us.  This have happened before too.  Sometimes if the cashier is young female Muslim who stares at the cross around my neck, they won’t wait on me and manager steps in or another employee.

Stop making excuses and condoning bad behavior.  This is why the Catholic Church is in crisis.

  • Also. I forgot to mention that I was with my father who wore his Veteran Army cap.  If police officers are being refused service, then maybe those who served in the military during Vietnam time is also being refused service.

    I have noticed the same.
I've also noticed the abundance of empty shelves and merchandise on the floor.  Also, if a product comes in a box, I've gotten into the habit of checking to see if the box has the item in it.  Shoplifting is worse than ever because we have an abundance of homeless and crack and heroin addicts in our city.  They will steal anything to sell or trade for drugs.
For a few years now, I've noticed that many of the younger generation seem to think it's enough that they've shown up for work let alone have to actually work when they get there.
Also, is anyone taught to pick up after themselves anymore?  Apparently mom or dad did that for them when they were growing up because hardly anyone uses a trash can.  Garbage is tossed out of car windows.  Bottles and cans litter the sides of streets.  People gather their household trash into bags and toss it wherever they feel like, even if that "wherever" happens to be on someone else's front lawn.

Our country is in a lot of trouble.

  • Stop making excuses.
    .
Start actually providing the relevant information in the OP.

The only thing you said in the OP is that she had a nose ring and said the transaction couldn't be processed without your info.  Big whoop.  If after the fact you want to add actually relevant information about her behavior fine, but don't act like we were supposed to know these things without you actually bringing them up.

    Typical melodrama.
